Funny video of Obama’s panel of ass-kickers

I found this on Facebook.

I almost NEVER laugh at anything, but this is really funny.

Oh, I almost forgot this story.

Excerpt:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said that BP, the energy company responsible for the ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, helped craft the bill proposed by Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) that would tax businesses for carbon emissions and raise the cost of fuel for American consumers.

“The problem for Democrats is that debating the Democrat cap-and-trade bill might not fit neatly into the White House messaging plan since it’s been widely reported that a major part, a major part of the Kerry-Lieberman bill was essentially written by BP,” McConnell said on the Senate floor on Wednesday.  “Let me say that again. A major part of the Kerry-Lieberman bill was written by BP. This is clearly an inconvenient fact.”

[…]“An administration that seems to spend most of its time coming up with new ways to show how angry it is at BP, is pushing a proposal that BP actually helped write,” said McConnell. “I can’t understand it and I don’t think the American people will understand why that it makes sense to respond to the BP oil spill by imposing a gas-tax increase on the American people that was advocated by BP.”

Ooops.

But then again, how can Obama kick the asses of BP when he was the top recipient of contributions from BP during the 2008 election cycle? The best he can do is talk tough and that may be enough to keep his poll numbers afloat, as long as the mainstream media back him up.

Canadian pro-life group gets fair TV coverage from CTV

Wow, check out this amazing video showing the work being done by the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform in southern Alberta.

WARNING: There are some images from actual abortions in this video.

This is very positive, considering how the pro-lifers are received on the university campuses in Canada. I like these pro-lifers – they’re young, they’re smart, and they’re determined. They engage their opponents with evidence face-to-face , and they are ready to debate the issue in a gentle and winsome way.

I understand that they were interviewed on television by CTV (above) but also by Global Television. These are secular, mainstream news sources.

Here is the link to the Global television coverage.

You can donate to CCBR here. (WARNING: Graphic images of abortion)

Quebec billionaire considering center-right news network

Political Map of Canada

Story here from the left-wing Globe and Mail.

Excerpt:

Quebec billionaire Pierre Karl Péladeau is attempting a major shakeup of television news in Canada, with plans to launch a 24-hour cable channel modelled on the right-leaning U.S. network Fox News.

It is a shot aimed directly at CBC and CTV, which for years have dominated the all-news format in English Canada. For months, Mr. Péladeau’s Montreal-based media empire, Quebecor Inc., has been putting together plans for a channel that will tap the same conservative sentiment that has made Fox News a major contender for ratings in the U.S.

To operate the upstart news network, Quebecor has enlisted a former senior aide to Prime Minister Stephen Harper to oversee the operations. Kory Teneycke, who served as director of communications to Mr. Harper in 2008 and 2009, has been appointed vice-president of business development at Quebecor Media Inc. and will lead the new project.

[…]An application for a licence was submitted to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission late last week. Though Quebecor’s plans are not yet public, a source said a formal announcement on the venture is “imminent.”

Canada already has Fox News in at least some areas, but Fox News doesn’t have specifically Canadian coverage. A Canadian news channel that isn’t left wing would be unbelievable for Canada. Canadian media is dominated by the left.

The problem is that the CRTC, a government body, has to approve each and every TV channel. There was a huge controversy over the approval of Fox News, so it’s not clear that the government will approve this new news channel. The powers that be in Canada are not really open to hearing new ideas on the other side.

Remember, this is the country that censors pro-lifers on campus and persecutes people in Human Rights Commission trials. Liberty and free speech are under attack up there.
