Bobby Jindal signs major abortion reforms into law

Bobby and Supriya Jindal

Story from Life Site News.

Excerpt:

Gov. Bobby Jindal signed three landmark abortion bills on Tuesday that significantly tighten the state’s regulations on abortionists and their practices, and opt out the state from the national health care reform’s abortion mandates.

Jindal signed two bills that were introduced and shepherded through the legislature by the Louisiana Right to Life Federation (LARTL). The Ultrasound before Abortion Act (SB 528) adds strict ultrasound requirements to the state’s informed consent laws.  The law requires abortionists to perform an ultrasound on a woman at least two hours before she undergoes the induced abortion of her child, and before she is put under any kind of anesthesia.

Abortion facility employees must also follow a detailed script set forth in the legislation, offering pregnant mothers the opportunity to see the ultrasound image, hear a description of the image, and receive a printout of the ultrasound image. To guarantee compliance, legislators added a provision stating that abortionists failing to adhere to the law could expect to find themselves sued in civil court by their clients.

The other bill, the Abortion Insurance Opt-Out (HB 1247), prohibits health insurers from providing abortion coverage within the state-run health insurance exchange that will go into operation in 2014, as mandated by the national health care reform. A provision of the national law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, gives states the explicit right to ban health insurance companies receiving public subsidies under the state health exchange from providing abortion coverage.

The Louisiana measure even protects children conceived in situations of rape and incest, leaving just one exception for insurance companies – allowing them to pay for abortion in cases where the mother’s life is in danger from “a physical disorder, physical illness, or physical injury” including “a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself.”

This is why we like him.

Obama thinks there is a point where you’ve made enough money

Transcript:

We’re not, we’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that’s fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money. But, you know, part of the American way is, you know, you can just keep on making it if you’re providing a good product or providing good service. We don’t want people to stop, ah, fulfilling the core responsibilities of the financial system to help grow our economy.

Oh well. I didn’t really need all that money I earn anyway. I’ll just keep “fulfilling the core responsibilities of the financial system to help grow our economy” and let Obama decide how to spend what I earn. It’s not like I have a family to provide for – that’s the government’s job – and my family has to be equal to everyone else’s, right? That’s fair. Fair for Obama’s Wall Street buddies, teacher union buddies and trial lawyer buddies that helped him to get elected.

Like we found out during the campaign, Obama likes to spread YOUR wealth around. Especially to people who vote for him.

I love Sue Myrick! And Paul Ryan is very passionate about these ideas.

These are the best ideas out there.

I know some of you will want to see him fight, so here he is fighting:

More from CNSNews: Rep. Paul Ryan: Obama’s New Budget Will ‘Literally Crash the U.S. Economy’

Excerpt:

Ryan pointed out that the Government Accountability Office recently reported that the federal government already faces a “fiscal gap” of $76 trillion, meaning that over the next 75 years the cost of the benefits promised in federal entitlement programs exceeds the tax revenues expected to pay for those benefits by that amount. That works out to almost $250,000 for every single American and about $650,000 for every American household.

The new debt President Obama plans for the federal government to incur over the next decade would come on top of this existing $76 trillion “fiscal gap.”

“All those unfunded liabilities, all that debt I’ve been telling you about, is before you pass this budget,” said Ryan. “That’s if we don’t pass the budget. If we pass the Obama budget, it just gets worse. He doubles the debt in 5 years and triples it in 10.”

The federal government currently divides its total debt into two categories: debt held by the public and debt the government owes to itself because it has borrowed and spent money taken out of the so-called Social Security and Medicare “trust funds.”

“Under the President’s budget, debt held by the public would grow from $7.5 trillion (53 percent of GDP) at the end of 2009 to $20.3 trillion (90 percent of GDP) at the end of 2020,” says the CBO report on Obama’s fiscal 2011 budget. “As a result, net interest would more than quadruple between 2010 and 2020 in nominal dollars (without an adjustment for inflation); it would expand from 1.4 percent of GDP in 2010 to 4.1 percent in 2020.”

Our children are doomed – unless Obama and Democrats are kicked out in the next election. We’re being governed by spoiled little rich kids who have no idea how bills are paid.
