Washington Post corrects news story that attributed inaccurate quotes to Trump

They lied.

Story from Fox News:

The Washington Post made a massive correction Monday to a January report about a phone call between then-President Donald Trump and a Georgia elections investigator, as the liberal paper admitted multiple quotes attributed to Trump based on an anonymous source were inaccurate.

The corrected story was a hot topic on cable news and talk shows that helped spread the Post’s flawed report and media watchdogs feel it points to larger problems with agenda-driven anonymous sources and liberal outlets that rush to “confirm” them.

[…]The Post initially reported Trump had told an official working in Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office to “find the fraud” in the state, which he lost narrowly to Joe Biden, and that she would be a “national hero” if she did.

However, a newly emerged recording of the Dec. 23 call found he didn’t use those words. Instead, Trump said she would be “praised” when the “right answer comes out” and encouraged her to closely examine mail-in ballots in heavily blue Fulton County.

The original headline was “‘Find the fraud’: Trump pressured a Georgia elections investigator in a separate call legal experts say could amount to obstruction.” They changed the headline when they made the correction. Other news outlets spread the lies. The article was used in the oral arguments recent attempt to impeach Trump. People saw it on TV, and they believed it.

It happens often. The New York Times had to correct a story that claimed that Trump supporters bludgeoned a police officer to death with a fire extinguisher. That was later found to be false and retracted, but again, the damage was already done. The news media ran with the lie, and it was used in the impeachment. Again, people saw it on TV, and they believed it.

The news media likes to say that this was just an honest mistake, but the mistakes always go against conservatives. When you look at the political donations of people in the news media, it’s almost entirely going to Democrats. They’re using their power to lie to the public, so they get their candidates elected. And then the Big Tech social media companies rely on the liars to “fact check” the rest of us, and censor us for telling the truth.

Remember that the entire Trump-Russia collusion news story also relied on anonymous sources. But in the end, it turned out that Democrats paid for the dossier that was used by the FBI to justify spying on Trump. I don’t remember anyone in the news media facing consequences for running a fake story for months and months.

By the way, the Washington Post is owned by the CEO of Amazon. I’m already trying to reduce my dependence on Amazon. You might want to think about it. He’s not a good person, and we shouldn’t be making him rich.

CNN news anchor Don Lemon says God doesn’t judge people

He’s an expert theologian and Bible scholar, and he has decided to educate us on what the Bible says and what it means.

Daily Caller reports:

CNN anchor Don Lemon claimed Monday that God was “not about hindering people or even judging people.”

Lemon, who is engaged to his partner Tim, joined ABC’s “The View” to talk about Pope Francis’ statement directing the Catholic Church not to bless same-sex unions.

[…]“I think that the Catholic Church and many other churches really need to re-examine themselves and their teachings. That’s not what God is about. God is not about hindering people or even judging people,” Lemon claimed.

[…]Lemon went on to say that he often viewed religion as a barrier preventing people from really getting to know and understand each other.

“I would say to the Pope and Vatican and all Christians or Catholics, or whomever, whatever religion you happen to belong to, go meet people. Try to understand people,” Lemon added. “Do what the Bible Jesus actually said, if you believe in Jesus, and that is love your fellow man and judge not lest you be not judged.”

This isn’t the first time I’ve blogged about CNN’s Don Lemon, or his amazing ability to interpret the Bible to Christians who don’t know what it says.

Christian Post reports:

CNN host Don Lemon has garnered criticism for claiming that Jesus Christ “was not perfect” while He was living on earth.

“Jesus Christ — if you believe in, if that’s who you believe in, Jesus Christ — admittedly was not perfect when he was here on this earth.”

I really would like Christians to be more careful about where they get their news from. This time, it’s obvious that Don Lemon doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Other times, it may not be. A lot of money goes into making people on CNN look attractive and sound authoritative. Don’t be fooled by appearances. These people are stupid and ignorant about the things they speak about.

If you’re wondering what to read, I read The Federalist, Daily Wire, Daily Signal and Daily Caller. I’d recommend that you stick with those web sites, and turn off the CNN Bible experts.

How well are Democrats doing at controlling the southern border?

One of the things that people liked the most about Trump is that he believed in border security. He didn’t want Americans losing jobs to people who shouldn’t be here. And he didn’t want Americans paying thousands of dollars in welfare money to illegal immigrant households that use more in welfare than they pay in taxes.

With that in mind, I wonder how Joe Biden and his Democrat allies are doing. They were short on achievements when running for election. Blue states like California have MASSIVE problems caused by illegal immigration. The Democrats had no resume of achievements to run on. But, they won the election somehow, and now we should see if they are competent to govern.

Here’s the situation:

A “staggering number” of children being held at a Customs and Border Protection facility in Texas are facing “concerning” conditions as the population of unaccompanied minors held in border patrol custody has jumped nearly 700%.

CBS News reports that lawyers, representing the migrant children, are lodging complaints about their treatment, after interviewing children who complained over overcrowding, of being left hungry, of going days without showering, and of “never” seeing the sun while being housed in the Texas detention centers.

I know that Biden rolled back a lot of the policies that Trump had put in to discourage illegal immigration. Biden got rid of the law that required foreigners to stay outside of the USA while awaiting hearings. Biden returned to the catch-and-release policy which allows illegals to enter the USA and just disappear. When you destroy law enforcement policies that deter illegal immigration, you encourage people to break the law. And then someone gets the bill for the higher spending on education and health care, and the higher crime rate. Biden doesn’t have the same concern for taxpayer money that Trump had. It’s not his money. What does he care? He has armed security.

More:

“The Donna facility, which opened last month, has been operating over its pandemic-era capacity for weeks, CBP acknowledged in a recent filing in federal court. The facility was holding 854 children on February 21 and nearly 700 two days before, according to the court filing, which also noted that social distancing ‘could not be observed at all times given the increasing numbers of individuals in custody,’” CBS reported Saturday.

Currently, the facility is estimated to be at 700% capacity.

Although the Biden administration as a whole has yet to call the situation a “crisis,” the White House announced on Sunday that it would call in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help minister to the child migrants in United States custody, per the BBC.

The Democrats don’t have any money of their own to spend on compassion. They’re being compassionate with YOUR money.

Maybe we should have worked harder to elect someone competent, rather than someone who just offered us good feelings and peer approval? Most of the people I know who voted for Joe Biden just “went with their gut”. They didn’t look at policy. But they’re going to have to pay for policy. They will, and their children will.
