Speaker John Boehner announced today that committees in the House of Representatives will take a look at the Planned Parenthood abortion business after a shocking new expose’ video that caught Planned Parenthood’s top doctor describing how the abortion business sells the body parts of aborted babies.

[…]Now, Speaker John Boehner says the House of Representatives will look into the “grisly” practice at Planned Parenthood. Boehner issued the following statement on the video released yesterday documenting the grisly practices embraced by Planned Parenthood.

“Nothing is more precious than life, especially an unborn child.  When anyone diminishes an unborn child, we are all hurt, irreversibly so.  When an organization monetizes an unborn child – and with the cavalier attitude portrayed in this horrific  video – we must all act.   As a start, I have asked our relevant committees to look into this matter. I am also calling on President Obama and Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell to denounce, and stop, these gruesome practices.”

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the number two Republican, also released a statement calling on House Committees to investigate inhumane abortion practices first revealed yesterday in a video of a Planned Parenthood employee.

“Life is truly a miracle, and here in the House we have fought and will continue to fight to protect the sanctity of life. I speak for all of my colleagues when I say I was deeply disturbed by reports and video of an organization engaging in such grotesque and inhumane practices. I will be working with House Committees to investigate the claims made by the employee. We should all agree that no life is expendable, and our society has no place for such callous indifference to life.”

The statements come just hours before members of Congress will host a press conference also calling for a Congressional investigation. Representatives Chris Smith (NJ-04), Sean Duffy (WI-07) and Ann Wagner (MO-02) are hosting a press conference calling for further investigation into the evidence presented in undercover video.

And the Republican governors of Texas and Louisiana are also taking immediate action:

Governors of two states are also looking into the selling of body parts from aborted babies and Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal have launched investigations in their states.

Yesterday, I blogged about how Republican governors Scott Walker (Wisconsin) and Rick Perry (Texas) had defunded Planned Parenthood in their states. If you don’t like organ harvesting, you vote Republican. Period.

Two stories from Newsbusters, the premier source for exposing media bias.

First story:

A taxpayer-funded organization reportedly selling baby hearts and livers should be a huge story. Not so, say the broadcast networks, which have devoted just 39 seconds to the story, out of the 9 hours and 30 minutes of news shows they’ve aired since it broke.

The broadcast networks censored an undercover video of Planned Parenthood senior director of medical services Dr. Deborah Nucatola explaining how her organization procures and sells the body parts of aborted babies. Of the three broadcast networks, only NBC has mentioned the footage released July 14 by the “anti-abortion” Center for Medical Progress (CMP) – in a mere 39 seconds.

[…]ABC and CBS turned a blind eye to the Planned Parenthood exposé — in favor of other, more pressing stories.

The pressing stories were just standard tabloid fluff, of course.

Second story:

While cable networks CNN and MSNBC on Tuesday looked the other way following the release of the disturbing video showing a Planned Parenthood executive discussing the sale of body parts from aborted babies, the Fox News Channel program Special Report offered a full report on the investigation by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) from chief legal correspondent Shannon Bream.

Bream then outlined the contents of the video:

The Center for Medical Progress, or CMP, launched this website today by releasing a video it says is the result of a two-and-a-half-year undercover investigation into practices at Planned Parenthood. In the video shot in the Los Angeles restaurant last summer, a woman identified as Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services for Planned Parenthood, discusses the transfer of fetal body parts harvested after abortion.
After a soundbite from the video, Bream noted that “[f]ederal law bans the sale of human organs as well as commercial trafficking of body parts from an aborted fetus” with actors working for CMP even “ask[ing] if doctors could perform custom-tailored abortion with the goal of harvesting specific organs and hearts” (to which Nucatola confirmed as being a possible option).

Adding at the end of her report, Bream mentioned that “the woman identified as Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services says prices per body part would likely range from $30 to $100.”

By far, the best program on FNC is Special Report, and you can see why. They will tell you the news that does not fit the secular left’s agenda.

I thought that this related clip featuring Christian apologist Sean McDowell was very telling about media bias:

The mainstream media tells the story that it wants to tell, in order to sway public opinion towards the secular left – towards Democrats.

Although the mainstream media has not covered the story of Planned Parenthood harvesting organs that I blogged about yesterday, Bobby Jindal has heard about it. And he is going to knock over some tables and whip some ass.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal announced Tuesday he is directing his state’s Department of Health and Hospitals to launch an investigation into Planned Parenthood. This comes on the heels of the release of an investigative video by pro-life group Center for Medical Progress depicting the abortion giant’s chief medical officer speaking about how to abort a baby intact to harvest its body parts for sale.

“Today’s video of a Planned Parenthood official discussing the systematic harvesting and trafficking of human body parts is shocking and gruesome,” Jindal, a Republican presidential contender, said in a statement sent to Breitbart News.

“This same organization is seeking to open an abortion clinic in New Orleans,” he continued. “I have instructed Louisiana’s Department of Health and Hospitals to conduct an immediate investigation into this alleged evil and illegal activity and to not issue any licenses until this investigation is complete. I am also asking the FBI to assist DHH in investigating this alleged criminal activity by this organization.”

Jindal is the strongest pro-lifer in the Republican primary. And he gets the top spot in this post, because he was the only Republican to take immediate action on it.

Some of the other GOP candidates are upset at Planned Parenthood, as well.

Now, pro-life Republican presidential hopefuls Rick Perry and Carly Fiorina are both slamming Planned Parenthood over its business of selling aborted baby body parts.

Former Texas Governor Rick Perry released the following statement on the video showing a Planned Parenthood staffer attempting to sell the body parts of aborted children:

“The video showing a Planned Parenthood employee selling the body parts of aborted children is a disturbing reminder of the organization’s penchant for profiting off the tragedy of a destroyed human life. It is because of stories like this that I signed legislation defunding Planned Parenthood in the state of Texas – to protect human life and the health and safety of Texans.”

And pro-life businesswoman Carly Fiorina responded as well:

“I am proudly pro-life. I believe that every human life has potential and that every human life is precious. This latest news is tragic and outrageous. This isn’t about “choice.” It’s about profiting on the death of the unborn while telling women it’s about empowerment.”

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, also a Republican candidate for president, has opened a state investigation into Planned Parenthood.

Senator Ted Cruz, another pro-life presidential candidate, has also issued a statement calling for Congress to launch an investigation.

“Today’s news regarding allegations that Planned Parenthood is possibly selling the body parts of the babies it has aborted is sickening.

“There is no place for taxpayer funding of organizations that profit from taking away innocent life, much less profiting off the bodies of the lives they have stolen. Congress should immediately begin an investigation of Planned Parenthood’s activities regarding the sale and transfer of aborted body parts, including who is obtaining them and what they are being used for. And it should renew efforts to fully defund Planned Parenthood to ensure that its morally bankrupt business receives not one penny of taxpayer money.

“I proudly stand on the side of life and remain committed to fighting for all innocent life to be valued and protected under the laws of this nation.”

Meanwhile, governor Scott Walker had this to say, and this was reported by The Hill:

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Tuesday called a video purportedly showing a top Planned Parenthood executive discussing the transfer of aborted fetal tissue “absolutely horrifying and disgusting.”

“Planned Parenthood and the Democrats who vote to fund this organization owe the American people an explanation for these heinous, and possibly illegal, actions,” the 2016 Republican presidential candidate said, according to BuzzFeed.

“Practices like this cannot be tolerated, which is why as governor, I defunded Planned Parenthood,” Walker added.

Scott Walker did indeed defund Planned Parenthood in his state, and he is not even in a red state – Wisconsin is a blue state. I like that two of the people running for president actually defunded Planned Parenthood in their states (Walker and Perry).

Finally, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has also launched an investigation of Planned Parenthood in his state.
