News media freaks out over dead lion, ignores Planned Parenthood organ harvesting

I'm Scheming Unborn Baby, and I approve of incrementalism
I’m Scheming Unborn Baby, and I have more value than a stupid lion

The best site for documenting media bias is Newsbusters. Let’s see what the mainstream news media reported about instead of reporting on the third Planned Parenthood organ harvesting video.

They reported on a stupid lion:

America’s anchors have spoken: the shooting of one lion vastly outweighs the trafficking of baby parts by a taxpayer-funded abortion giant.

In other words, the broadcast news shows spent more time in one day on Cecil the Lion than they did on the Planned Parenthood videos in two weeks.

The three broadcast networks, ABC, NBC and CBS censored the third video released Tuesday by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) exposing Planned Parenthood’s practice of harvesting aborted baby parts — censored it at Planned Parenthood’s urging. But the news shows did find more than 14 minutes for a more important story: the “outrage” over the shooting of Cecil, a famed African lion, by an American dentist.

Tuesday, the networks spent 5 minutes, 44 seconds during their evening news shows on Cecil — and that’s not even counting the teasers. Wednesday morning, ABC, NBC and CBS lamented over the lion for 8 minutes, 17 seconds.

But they couldn’t do the same for a story of babies “picked” apart by tweezers.

The rest of that article outlines some of the extreme hand-wringing by the left-wing media over this MAN-EATING LION – and this is the same mainstream media that is ignoring the selling of the organs of babies pulled apart while they are still alive – for profit. It’s not a nice pet lion, it would eat you. And despite all their tears and concern for the lion, it would eat them, too. Really not sure where they are going with crying about this lion, and ignoring the unborn babies being chopped up and sold to ghouls for money. The latter seems worse.

Meanwhile, in the Obama administration, the Department of Health and Human Services says there is nothing to investigate about Planned Parenthood, because reasons.

Breitbart News:

In testimony before the House Education and the Workforce Committee Tuesday, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Burwell said she had not viewed any of the videos regarding Planned Parenthood’s involvement in harvesting the body parts of aborted babies for sale, and that her office would not be conducting an investigation into the practices of the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Just remarkable to me that people on the left are freaking out about a stupid lion, but totally indifferent to 60 million unborn children being killed in this country alone, since Roe. v. Wade. Not to mention all the innocent victims of criminals. Why is it considered virtuous now to freak out over lions while ignoring innocent human beings who are dying? People are more important than lions, because they are made in the image of God, to know God. People are more important than lions.

Meanwhile, a California judge has ruled that no more videos that make Stem Express (the aforementioned ghouls) look bad may be released by the Center for Medical Progress.

Life Site News reports:

The California Superior Court has issued a narrow temporary restraining order preventing the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), a pro-life group, from releasing further undercover video footage taken of three top-level staff of StemExpress.

CMP is the organization behind the series of three videos released over the past three weeks exposing the alleged harvesting and sale of body parts from aborted babies by Planned Parenthood – body parts that are then purchased by StemExpress.

CMP has alleged that the fees paid by StemExpress to Planned Parenthood violate federal law prohibiting the sale and trafficking of human tissue.

While Planned Parenthood has claimed that the fees paid to them by StemExpress merely cover their costs, and fall within the bounds of the law, the video footage released so far has appeared to show Planned Parenthood employees seeking profit as part of the transaction.

In the most recent video, released Tuesday, a Planned Parenthood affiliate vice president was caught on video describing how the abortion organization can maximize profit. “I think a per-item thing works a little better, just because we can see how much we can get out of it,” Dr. Savita Sinde said of the aborted baby.

Nice First Amendment you have there, America. Shame if anything were to happen to it.

CMP should probably go ahead and release all the videos immediately, to stop the judges from silencing them.

ABC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC all ignore Planned Parenthood organ harvesting story

Two stories from Newsbusters, the premier source for exposing media bias.

First story:

A taxpayer-funded organization reportedly selling baby hearts and livers should be a huge story. Not so, say the broadcast networks, which have devoted just 39 seconds to the story, out of the 9 hours and 30 minutes of news shows they’ve aired since it broke.

The broadcast networks censored an undercover video of Planned Parenthood senior director of medical services Dr. Deborah Nucatola explaining how her organization procures and sells the body parts of aborted babies. Of the three broadcast networks, only NBC has mentioned the footage released July 14 by the “anti-abortion” Center for Medical Progress (CMP) – in a mere 39 seconds.

[…]ABC and CBS turned a blind eye to the Planned Parenthood exposé — in favor of other, more pressing stories.

The pressing stories were just standard tabloid fluff, of course.

Second story:

While cable networks CNN and MSNBC on Tuesday looked the other way following the release of the disturbing video showing a Planned Parenthood executive discussing the sale of body parts from aborted babies, the Fox News Channel program Special Report offered a full report on the investigation by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) from chief legal correspondent Shannon Bream.

Bream then outlined the contents of the video:

The Center for Medical Progress, or CMP, launched this website today by releasing a video it says is the result of a two-and-a-half-year undercover investigation into practices at Planned Parenthood. In the video shot in the Los Angeles restaurant last summer, a woman identified as Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services for Planned Parenthood, discusses the transfer of fetal body parts harvested after abortion.
After a soundbite from the video, Bream noted that “[f]ederal law bans the sale of human organs as well as commercial trafficking of body parts from an aborted fetus” with actors working for CMP even “ask[ing] if doctors could perform custom-tailored abortion with the goal of harvesting specific organs and hearts” (to which Nucatola confirmed as being a possible option).

Adding at the end of her report, Bream mentioned that “the woman identified as Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services says prices per body part would likely range from $30 to $100.”

Here’s a clip of Fox News’ coverage:

By far, the best program on FNC is Special Report, and you can see why. They will tell you the news that does not fit the secular left’s agenda.

I thought that this related clip featuring Christian apologist Sean McDowell was very telling about media bias:

The mainstream media tells the story that it wants to tell, in order to sway public opinion towards the secular left – towards Democrats.

I spotted this related article on Breitbart News, which listed 10 other major stories that the left-wing media declined to cover:

  1. ACORN Corruption
  2. Obama Politicizing the NEA For Propaganda Purposes
  3. Democrats Lie About Tea Party N-word
  4. Dylann Roof and the Breakdown of Federal Background Checks
  5. Clinton Foundation Scandals
  6. Hillary Clinton’s Secret Email Account and Server
  7. IRS Persecutes Obama’s Political Enhemies
  8. Obama’s Increased Surveillance State
  9. DOJ Seizes AP Phone Records
  10. Benghazi

These are individual examples, but there are also studies that look at the aggregate data. If you want to see the research on media bias, I have written about the studies here in a previous blog post.

The text at the bottom of the April 4, 1994 Time Magazine cover says: “White House Senior Advisor George Stephanopolous with President Clinton in the Oval Office”.

Breitbart News has more news on the ABC News defense of the Clinton Foundation by former Clinton administration top aide George Stephanopolous.

Excerpt:

George Stephanopoulos’ connections to the Clinton Foundation may be more substantial than he has so far admitted.

An archived page of the Clinton Global Initiative website lists George Stephanopoulos as a “notable member” for the years 2010 and 2011. ABC News has confirmed Mr. Stephanopoulos was a member during both years.

Blogger Jeryl Bier first noticed Stephanopoulos’ name on a CGI list of “notable past members.” The site did not specify when each individual listed had been a member. However, the Internet archive shows that Stephanopoulos was listed as a notable member in 2010 and 2011 along with a list of other well-known media members like Matt Lauer and Anderson Cooper.

[…]Breitbart News contacted ABC News and was told that Mr. Stephanopoulos did not pay a membership fee in either 2010 or 2011. According to a spokesperson, he was listed as a member because he moderated a panel for CGI events both of those years.

The Internet archive does not have a cache of the notable CGI members prior to 2010, but according to publicly available sources, Stephanopoulos also participated in CGI events in 2005, in 2006, in 2007 and in 2009. Therefore, it’s possible he was considered a member for every year between 2005-2011, with the possible exception of 2008, when he does not appear to have taken part in any CGI event.

On Wednesday of this week, the Washington Free Beacon discovered that ABC’s Stephanopoulos was listed on the Clinton Foundation website as a donor. WFB reporter Andrew Stiles contacted ABC News to confirm those donations. Rather than respond to the WFB, the spokesperson for ABC News appears to have leaked the story on the donations to Politico.

Politico is a left-wing organization, and they would have spun the story to protect the Clintons and ABC News. It amazes me that anyone looks to the mainstream media for news. Why would you trust people to tell you the truth about Clinton when they donated to the Clinton Foundation, did events for the Clinton Global Initiative, helped to get Bill Clinton elected President as a top aide, then worked in Bill Clinton’s administration as White House Communications Director?

Remember what Stephanopoulos did to Romney during the last Republican primary debate?

The radically leftist New York Times summarizes the clip above:

In 2012 advisers in the Romney campaign actively lobbied to exclude Mr. Stephanopoulos from the primary debates to no avail. Conservatives say their fears were borne out during the ABC News debate in New Hampshire that year. Mr. Stephanopoulos repeatedly asked Mr. Romney if he believed that states could outlaw birth control — a question that the Romney campaign saw as off-point and far afield of the issues that concerned voters. Mr. Stephanopoulos pressed repeatedly, asking six follow-up questions.

That’s right. He asked 7 questions about a topic that as relevant to the campaign as Clinton’s affairs with Monica Lewinsky. He did it in order to smear Republicans.
