UK gender clinic to be sued by 1000+ families who regret transforming

I’m anxiously waiting for the most conservative states to introduce legislation that would allow children who are manipulated into changing genders to sue. You might think that it sounds like a crazy idea, but other countries who are further along are doing it.

Here’s a story from the UK Times about what’s happening in the socialist UK, where they have government-run health care.

Excerpt:

The Tavistock gender clinic is facing mass legal action from youngsters who claim they were rushed into taking life-altering puberty blockers.

Lawyers expect about 1,000 families to join a medical negligence lawsuit alleging vulnerable children have been misdiagnosed and placed on a damaging medical pathway.

They are accusing the gender identity development service [GIDS] at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust of multiple failures in its duty of care.

This includes allegations it recklessly prescribed puberty blockers with harmful side effects and adopted an “unquestioning, affirmative approach” to children identifying as transgender.

Last month NHS England announced it was shutting the Tavistock clinic over safety concerns following a damning external review. Care will be handed to regional children’s hospitals.

The law firm Pogust Goodhead has since announced it is pursuing a group litigation order against the trust, which has treated 19,000 children with gender dysphoria (the feeling that one’s emotional and psychological identity differs from one’s birth sex) since 1989.

Former patients given puberty blockers are joining the “class action” lawsuit and papers are due to be lodged at the High Court within six months.

Tom Goodhead, chief executive of Pogust Goodhead, told The Times: “Children and young adolescents were rushed into treatment without the appropriate therapy and involvement of the right clinicians, meaning that they were misdiagnosed and started on a treatment pathway that was not right for them.

“These children have suffered life-changing and, in some cases, irreversible effects of the treatment they received . . . We anticipate that at least 1,000 clients will join this action.”

That’s a 10,000 foot view of what’s going on, but this other article from the UK Times shows you what it is like for one of those victims:

A woman who had testosterone injections and a mastectomy at the Scottish equivalent of the Tavistock clinic before “detransitioning” back has said that its children’s service should be closed.

Sinead Watson, now 31, was treated after self-referring to the Sandyford clinic in Glasgow when she was 24.

She later realised that transitioning had not helped her depression, anxiety and self-harm. She wants Sandyford’s young people’s gender service, for those under 18, to close, following the fate of the gender identity development service at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust in London, which will shut next year.

Watson, from Glasgow, told The Times: “I went to Sandyford as a 24-year-old woman with a long history of depression, anxiety, self-harm, alcohol abuse and suicidal ideation.

“I did not have gender dysphoria prior to my teens. Yet for some reason, the clinic thought it was appropriate to ignore all of these other issues. Within a matter of months, I was put on irreversible cross-sex hormones.”

[…]“I met with a gender specialist who asked me about my childhood,” she said. “I told him that I was a perfectly normal little girl who didn’t have any gender issues at all. They contacted my GP with my permission and got access to all of my medical history. They weren’t really interested in exploring the depression, the anxiety or the self-harm. All they were interested in was talking about my gender crisis.”

After three or four appointments over about five months, Watson said, she was prescribed and began injecting testosterone every three weeks. Every five months, she said, she was invited for an appointment at which specialists would check her blood pressure and hormones. “There was a bit of small talk, but it wasn’t like counselling or therapy sessions,” she said. “I was out the door in 20 minutes.”

Sandyford referred Watson, by then living as Sean, to a hospital in Manchester for a mastectomy in 2017. This was a little later than the clinic had intended, she said, because of the numbers of trans men it was sending there. “I was so consumed by my desire that this transition was going to make me feel so much better, that I couldn’t wait,” she said.

After the surgery, however, she found “I had taken testosterone, I had undergone surgery and I was talking about wanting to get a hysterectomy. But I was still just as depressed and as f***ing miserable as I had been.”

Asked whether there had been a tipping point, Watson said: “Going into the operating room with breasts then the next minute they’re gone … it is such a big change and you know you can’t undo it . . . I just kind of thought … what have I done?”
By 2018 Watson “fully regretted” transitioning, she said, but it was more than a year before she started detransitioning. She has not been back to the clinic since before her mastectomy.

I wrote about another case from the UK, where the child was on the transformer path after just 2 and a half hours of counseling.

Two reasons why Christians and conservatives should not donate to United Way

Well, it’s that time of year again, when corporations bully their employees into donating to the United Way. I thought it might be a good idea to urge all Bible-believing Christians to avoid donating to the United Way.  Please share this post if you agree with it!

Let’s start with abortion. The United Way gives TONS of money to fund abortion providers.

In 2008, United Way affiliates send $1.9 million to Planned Parenthood:

The national United Way does fund Planned Parenthood; their website states:

United Way funded programs through Planned Parenthood include community health maintenance, e.g. communicable disease prevention; medical care service; family planning; health education; public awareness services; and family preservation and strengthening services, e.g. counseling and family life education.

Nationally in 2008, local United Ways distributed an estimated $1.9 million to Planned Parenthood agencies.

Any finances being donated to Planned Parenthood (even if not specifically for abortion services) will free up more of their money to be used toward abortion services.

In 2015, United Way sent $3 million to Planned Parenthood:

Last year, on the heels of shocking videos showing the Planned Parenthood abortion business selling the body parts of aborted babies, a new expose’ from a group that monitors corporations that finance the abortion giant reveals the United Way is a major donor. That expose found United Way agencies giving $2 million to the abortion giant.

A new expose’ released this week shows that figure has increased to $3 million.

In 2016, United Way sent $3 million to Planned Parenthood:

Analysis of the most recent IRS Form 990 filings and other documentation found 62 United Way affiliates sent $2,756,799 to Planned Parenthood abortion organizations in tax year 2016. 2ndVote’s latest findings indicate an increase of $168,806 from the $2,590,994 United Way funneled to Planned Parenthood in 2015.

We’re living in a time when abortion rights involves such issues as sex-selection abortions, race-selection abortions, covering up statutory rapists, Democrat support for infanticide, attacking Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, selling the body parts of unborn babies, etc. I don’t think we can count on United Way to come down on the right side of these issues. We’re already being forced to fund abortions with our tax dollars, thanks to Democrats. I don’t think we should give any more money to abortion providers and their secular leftist allies.

That’s abortion. What about gay rights? We’ve seen a lot of pressure on traditional values coming from the secular left lately. They redefined marriage AGAIN to deprive children of their biological mothers or fathers. They’re pushing for the Equality Act, which would have huge religious liberty repercussions for Christians.

Texas attorney Maria Martinez explains on the American Thinker:

The Equality Act is more draconian that any state or city conversion therapy ban to date because it takes away the traditional constitutional exemption for religious freedom.  The act specifically states that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) may not be invoked as a defense, marking the first time in history that Congress has limited the reach of RFRA.  This means that it could become illegal for Christian pastors, churches, schools, and ministries to communicate a message that sexual orientation or gender identity can change.  The Equality Act is unprecedented in its overreach, impacting even adults who are willingly seeking counseling.

By contrast, therapy of any kind that pushes a person toward same-sex attraction or gender transition is not impacted by the law at all.

Banning counseling isn’t the only thing the Equality Act will do:

  • Parents could lose custody of their children if they decline to assist in their gender transition.  Parents in Ohio recently lost custody of their female child because they would not give her testosterone supplements to help her “transition” to look like a male.

  • Doctors and hospitals could be subject to lawsuits for refusing to perform so-called “sex change” surgeries.  In California and New Jersey, Catholic hospitals are already being sued for discrimination for refusing to perform these surgeries.

  • Battered women’s shelters could be required to admit members of the opposite sex.  In Anchorage, Alaska, a male who was refused access to a shelter for abused and trafficked women sued the shelter for “gender identity discrimination.”

  • Faith-based adoption and foster care agencies that believe that children do best with both a mother and a father could be forced to shut down.  This has already occurred in at least six states in this country.

I wonder what United Way thinks about attacks on Bible-believing Christians by LGBT activists? I posted what they shared on Facebook at the top of this post, and this is what I found on their Twitter:

United Way Twitter Gay Rights Pride Month LGBT

I don’t find that very encouraging, do you?

As a Bible-believing Christian, maybe I would be better off giving money to an organization that protects religious liberty, like Alliance Defending Freedom. I understand that many people who call themselves Christians think that the United Way’s positions are compatible with the Bible. But not everyone who calls herself a Christian actually takes the Bible seriously. Especially when it interferes with their career advancement and peer approval. This is especially true of people who work in Human Resources.

Please, don’t give money to the United Way

You don’t HAVE to give money to the United Way, just because the godless progressives in your office try to bully you into it. Instead, why not send the money to the Life Training Institute, or Ratio Christi, or Alliance Defending Freedom? These are groups do operate on Bible-based principles. I do think that Christians need to be careful about who they donate their money to. It doesn’t make sense for Christians to get up and go to work and earn money, and then give it away to anti-Christian groups who want Christianity to disappear from American life. Paul talks about how God rewards those who give gifts to partner for the gospel in Philippians. Make sure that you are not wasting your money on anything less.

Who controls voter management systems in 31 states and Washington, D.C.?

The November election is getting pretty close, and I keep telling conservatives and Christians that they need to do more than show up on election day. Now is the time to be sharing articles with independents, because we will have to win over a lot of independents in order to win the elections in November. Why? Because the Democrats have a plan to get out their voters.

Take a look at this article from The Federalist by Victoria Marshall.

Excerpt:

A prominent voter-roll management system used by 31 states and the District of Columbia has politically compromised ties, according to a new report by independent research group Verity Vote.

The Electronic Registration Information Center, or ERIC, was sold to states as a quick and easy way to update their voter rolls. Started in 2012 by far-left activist David Becker and the left-leaning Pew Charitable Trusts, the program is ostensibly run by the member states themselves. But as public records show, Democratic operatives are working overtime under the cover of ERIC to accomplish their partisan goals and drive Democratic voter turnout.

Here’s what we know about David Becker:

Before he started ERIC, Becker worked as a lobbyist for People for the American Way, a George Soros-funded advocacy group best known for the Right Wing Watch project, a website that catalogs and attacks conservative politicians and movements.

Before that, though, he was a Justice Department attorney whom colleagues remember as a “hard-core leftist” who “couldn’t stand Conservatives.”

Connected to Mark Zuckerberg’s “Zuckerbucks” election strategy, which targets blue areas of swing states:

But now ERIC is undergoing scrutiny for its involvement with another Becker project, the Center for Election Innovation and Research (CEIR). That group was one of two leftist groups used to funnel Mark Zuckerberg’s $419 million that funded the private takeover of government election offices in 2020. This funding targeted the blue areas of swing states, allowing left-wing operatives to run Democrat “get out the vote” operations from inside the election apparatus.

ERIC shares voter roll data — including records of unregistered voters — it receives from the states with CEIR, according to public information requests detailed in the report. CEIR then develops targeted mailing lists and sends them back to the states to use for voter registration outreach. As part of their agreement with ERIC, states are not allowed to disclose any data they send to nor receive from ERIC, however, ERIC is not under the same constraints and is able to work with CEIR.

They are supposed to be scrubbing ineligible voters off the voting rolls, but…

Per ERIC’s own statistics, in 2020, it identified 17 million new voters compared to identifying only about 3 million inaccurate voters on the rolls.

Remember how Biden surprised everyone by winning swing states like Pennsylvania and Michigan?

As previously reported, CEIR held significant sway in the 2020 election. After receiving more than $70 million from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, CEIR mainly funneled the cash to Democratic secretaries of state in key swing states to gain access to data needed to inflate voter rolls and drive Democratic voter turnout. Pennsylvania and Michigan received the most CEIR funds, with Pennsylvania’s Department of State receiving $13 million and Michigan nearly $12 million.

CEIR’s own website says grant funds were exclusively used for voter education, specifically “direct mail outreach, paid media campaigns, and other communication activities.” In Michigan, however, $11.8 million of its $12 million grant went to Democratic consulting firms for conducting so-called “nonpartisan” voter education. Meanwhile, the $13 million to Pennsylvania’s secretary of state funded a massive “voter information” campaign in mostly Democrat-heavy Philadelphia and Allegheny counties.

So, what’s my plan to get conservatives and Christians to vote this election? Well, on this blog, I am trying to highlight all of the things that the Democrats are doing on every kind of issue you can imagine. Not just social issues, like abortion, marriage, LGBT activism, etc. But also fiscal issues, like inflation, socialized medicine, green energy, etc. And not just fiscal issues, but law enforcement (FBI and DOJ corruption) and national security (Iran, Taiwan, etc.). The goal being to win over as many voters as I can by any means that they will find convincing.

If I can discuss 20 different policy issues, using evidence, then I can sway many different types of low-information / apathetic voters to get involved in the election. The key is getting informed about many different issues that matter, even the ones I’m not really interested in, and then sharing articles with people.

One of the best things to do is to show articles on the Democrats progressive social policy to Christians, while showing articles about gun rights and inflation to libertarians, and showing articles about foreign policy to conservatives. Basically, targeting different groups with articles they will find interesting and convincing. So I am looking over The Federalist, Daily Wire, Daily Caller, Daily Signal and Breitbart every day, and e-mailing out articles to friends and co-workers and former co-workers. The Matt Walsh podcast is particularly useful for getting Christians who care about social issues interested in elections.

We’re going to have to do MORE than just show up to vote in November. We’re going to have to bring a lot of people with us. And that happens when we share conservative ideas, with evidence. We have to be persuasive.
