Anti-Israel union thug assaults Blazing Cat Fur ON CAMERA

Story at Blazing Cat Fur, because he’s the cameraman. (H/T The Other McCain via ECM)

Blazing Cat Fur writes:

Ali Mallah a notorious Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Union Thug Assaults intrepid blogger Blazingcatfur! Mallah, who is also a Vice President of the virulently anti-semitic Canadian Arab Federation, is well known for his anti-Israel derangement and is shown in the video as he attempts to prevent Blazing from filming an anti-Netanyahu protest sponsored by the Leftist Islamofascist alliance in Toronto. The thugs were there to protest Netanyahu’s appearance at the annual Walk with Israel event. More on the protest here.

CUPE is a hard-left anti-Israel union. Every government worker in Canada has to be a member and pay dues to this group of socialist thugs. Blech! They oppose good policies like free trade, traditional marriage and reform of the single-payer health care system.

Remember this is a government union thug attacking a private citizen – it’s worse than the SEIU stuff I posted before. Public sector people don’t actually work for a living (military excluded), so really they just lobby government for pay raises and beat up people who get in their way. Another reason to push for smaller government – we don’t need to have people paid to do nothing except hold protest signs.

Public sector unions should be abolished. Heck, all unions should be abolished.

Gates of Vienna points out that there is a useful comment thread going on at Michael Coren’s blog. Apparently the police didn’t do anything to the Muslim union guy, but instead warned BLAZING CAT FUR to “keep things peaceful”.

Video: Muslim Student Association member calls for second holocaust

I am astonished and appalled by this video. (H/T Gateway Pundit, Hot Air via ECM)

The Weekly Standard sets it up:

Last night NewsReal Blog’s Editor-in-Chief David Horowitz gave a talk at UC San Diego to counter the Muslim Students Association’s Israeli Apartheid Week. (Horowitz made a point to properly describe the event as “Hitler Youth” week.) …

During the Question and Answer period Horowitz had a chilling exchange with a member of the MSA in which he prodded her to reveal the depraved depths of her Jew-hatred. What’s shocking is not so much that she holds such views, but rather that she was willing to admit it…

Partial transcript:

MSA member: If I support Hamas, because your question forces me to condemn Hamas.  If I support Hamas, I look really bad.

Horowitz: If you don’t condemn Hamas, obviously you support it.  Case closed.  I have had this experience at UC Santa Barbara, where there were 50 members of the Muslim Students Association sitting right in the rows there.  And throughout my hour talk I kept asking them, will you condemn Hizbollah and Hamas. And none of them would.  And then when the question period came, the president of the Muslim Students Association was the first person to ask a question. And I said, ‘Before you start, will you condemn Hizbollah?’ And he said, ‘Well, that question is too complicated for a yes or no answer.’  So I said, ‘Okay, I’ll put it to you this way.  I am a Jew.  The head of Hizbollah has said that he hopes that we will gather in Israel so he doesn’t have to hunt us down globally.  For or Against it?

MSA member: For it.

I condemn Hizbollah and I condemn hatred of Jews. I hope you do too.

Mark Steyn writes on the West’s failure to contain Iran’s nuclear ambitions

From National Review. (H/T ECM)

Excerpt:

In Iran, the self-declared nuclear regime announced that it was now enriching uranium to 20 percent. When President Obama took office, the Islamic Republic had 400 centrifuges enriching up to 3.5 percent. A year later, it has 8,000 centrifuges enriching to 20 percent. The CIA director, Leon Panetta, now cautiously concedes that Iran’s nuclear ambitions may have a military purpose. Which is odd, because the lavishly funded geniuses behind America’s National Intelligence Estimate told us only two years ago that Tehran had ended its nuclear weapons program in 2003. Is that estimate no longer operative? And, if so, could we taxpayers get a refund?

[…]On the other hand, when it comes to “keeping you safe” from real threats, such as a millenarian theocracy that claims universal jurisdiction, America and its allies do nothing. There aren’t going to be any sanctions, because China and Russia don’t want them. That means military action, which would have to be done without U.N. backing — which, as Greg Sheridan of the Australian puts it, “would be foreign to every instinct of the Obama administration.” Indeed. Nonetheless, Washington is (all together now) “losing patience” with the mullahs. The New York Daily News reports the latest get-tough move: “Secretary of State Clinton dared Iran on Monday to let her hold a town-hall meeting in Tehran.”

[…]It is now certain that Tehran will get its nukes, and very soon. This is the biggest abdication of responsibility by the Western powers since the 1930s. It is far worse than Pakistan going nuclear, which, after all, was just another thing the CIA failed to see coming. In this case, the slow-motion nuclearization conducted in full view and through years of tortuous diplomatic charades and endlessly rescheduled looming deadlines is not just a victory for Iran but a decisive defeat for the United States. It confirms the Islamo-Sino-Russo-everybody-else diagnosis of Washington as a hollow superpower that no longer has the will or sense of purpose to enforce the global order.

The rest of the article talks about what a nuclear-weapon-empowered Iran will mean for Europe and the world.
