DOJ won’t prosecute government officials for unauthorized access of tax records

The Washington Times reports on a story of government tyranny.

Excerpt:

A government watchdog has found for the first time that confidential tax records of several political candidates and campaign donors were improperly scrutinized by government officials, but the Justice Department has declined to prosecute any of the cases.

Its investigators also are probing two allegations that the Internal Revenue Service “targeted for audit candidates for public office,” the Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration, J. Russell George, has privately told Sen. Chuck Grassley.

In a written response to a request by Mr. Grassley, the ranking Republican on the Judiciary Committee, Mr. George said a review turned up four cases since 2006 in which unidentified government officials took part in “unauthorized access or disclosure of tax records of political donors or candidates,” including one case he described as “willful.” In four additional cases, Mr. George said, allegations of improper access ofIRS records were not substantiated by the evidence.

Mr. Grassley has asked Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to explain why the Justice Department chose not to prosecute any of the cases. The Iowa Republican told The Washington Times that the IRS “is required to act with neutrality and professionalism, not political bias.”

[…]“The Justice Department should answer completely and not hide behind taxpayer confidentiality laws to avoid accountability for its decision not to prosecute a violation of taxpayer confidentiality laws,” Mr. Grassley told The Times. “With the IRS on the hot seat over targeting certain political groups, it’s particularly troubling to learn about ‘willful unauthorized access’ of tax records involving individuals who were candidates for office or political donors. The public needs to know whether the decision not to prosecute these violations was politically motivated and whether the individuals responsible were held accountable in any other way.”

But do you know who the Department of Justice will prosecute, after he’s been found innocent in a trial that should never even have occurred? George Zimmerman. It doesn’t matter if he’s innocent, he has to be persecuted to make a point. Meanwhile, the real criminals in the IRS get a pass from the real criminals in the Department of Justice.

The latest news from the leftist Washington Post on the IRS scandal is that it is now confirmed that the targeting of conservatives was not the work of a few low-level employees in Cincinnati.

Excerpt:

The chief counsel’s office for the Internal Revenue Service, headed by a political appointee of President Obama, helped develop the agency’s problematic guidelines for reviewing “tea party” cases, according to a top IRS attorney.

In interviews with congressional investigators, IRS lawyer Carter Hull said his superiors told him that the chief counsel’s office, led by William Wilkins, would need to review some of the first applications the agency screened for additional scrutiny because of potential political activity.

Previous accounts from IRS employees had shown that Washington IRS officials were involved in the controversy, but Hull’s comments represent the closest connection to the White House to date.

Oh, but I’m sure that the Obama administration is doing everything possible to bring the criminals (themselves) to justice. In between smuggling arms to Mexican drug cartels and covering up Benghazi, I mean.

Barack Obama to largest abortion provider Planned Parenthood: God Bless You

Life Site News reports.

During his speech to the Planned Parenthood abortion business today, President Barack Obama asked God to bless the number one abortion performer in the United States.

Here is how he ended his speech:

“As long as we’ve got to fight to make sure women have access to quality, affordable health care, and as long as we’ve got to fight to protect a woman’s right to make her own choices about her own health, I want you to know that you’ve also got a president who’s going to be right there with you, fighting every step of the way,” said Obama. “Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you.”

Planned Parenthood gets millions of dollars in taxpayer funding, and they then spend a portion of those millions in subsidies on donations to the Democrat Party.

Video: Planned Parenthood defends infanticide / post-birth abortion

The Weekly Standard reports.

Excerpt:

Florida legislators considering a bill to require abortionists to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion were shocked during a committee hearing this week when a Planned Parenthood official endorsed a right to post-birth abortion.

Alisa LaPolt Snow, the lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, testified that her organization believes the decision to kill an infant who survives a failed abortion should be left up to the woman seeking an abortion and her abortion doctor.

“So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief,” said Rep. Jim Boyd. “If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

“We believe that any decision that’s made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician,” said Planned Parenthood lobbyist Snow.

Rep. Daniel Davis then asked Snow, “What happens in a situation where a baby is alive, breathing on a table, moving. What do your physicians do at that point?”

“I do not have that information,” Snow replied. “I am not a physician, I am not an abortion provider. So I do not have that information.”

Rep. Jose Oliva followed up, asking the Planned Parenthood official, “You stated that a baby born alive on a table as a result of a botched abortion that that decision should be left to the doctor and the family. Is that what you’re saying?”

Again, Snow replied, “That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider.”

What I find the most disturbing is that Planned Parenthood receives taxpayer money, thanks to their supporters in the Democrat party.

Teen mother charged with dumping her 3-week-old daughter in remote area

The latest news in the glorious march of feminism to full equality.

Excerpt:

Illinois authorities arrested a 19-year-old woman after she allegedly admitted to dumping her 3-week-old daughter in a remote area.

Kendra Meaker, of Toulon, a city located about 30 miles northwest of Peoria, was charged in Stark County Circuit Court on Friday, with obstruction of justice and endangering the life or health of a child. Meaker, who also has an 11-month-old daughter, is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Meaker came to the attention of police on Sept. 27, when she reported someone had abducted her baby from the back seat of her car while she was mailing a package at a local post office. Illinois State Police immediately issued an Amber Alert for the missing toddler.

According to Stark County Sheriff Jimmie Dison, investigators were suspicious of Meaker’s story.

“I didn’t believe her,” Dison said in Stark County Circuit Court Friday.

When the FBI joined the search they questioned Meaker and she allegedly admitted she had abandoned her infant daughter along a rural roadside outside of town.

At 8 p.m., nearly 12 hours after the infant was placed alongside the road, a pair of search volunteers found the baby. She was alive and crying when they located her. The infant was transported to a local hospital for medical attention and is reportedly doing well.

Do you know who would agree with her?

Barack Obama voted for infanticide several times.

There really is no difference between abortion and what this woman tried to do to her baby. It’s the exact same thing. In both cases, it’s a strong person killing a weak person in order to avoid having their pursuit of happiness impacted by that other person’s needs. Babies don’t suddenly gain moral value because they change locations, or change size, or change how developed they are or change how dependent they are. A person is a person no matter how small. And abortion takes the life of an innocent human person.

Obama administration sends $3.1 million more to Planned Parenthood

Abortion is big business in the United States, and there’s no bigger player than Planned Parenthood. Not only do they get paid for performing abortions, but they also get taxpayer money from the government.

Take a look at the latest news about those subsidies:

After reaching an agreement to send more than $1 million over three years to a Planned Parenthood in Tennessee, the Obama administration has awarded $3.1 million in federal funds to Planned Parenthood affiliates in New Jersey.

The grant announcement was made Tuesday by Sens. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez, (D-NJ), two pro-abortion Democrats in the U.S. Senate who are longtime allies of Planned Parenthood. The funding comes through the Department of Health and Human Services to Planned Parenthood and other agencies.

[…]The new funding brings the New Jersey Family Planning League’s total federal funding this year to nearly $6.3 million. The NJFPL works with Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey, Planned Parenthood of Central and Greater Northern New Jersey, Hoboken Family Planning, and Women’s Health and Counseling Center in Somerville to fund 25 locations.

[…]Marie Tasy, Executive Director of New Jersey Right to Life, also criticized the decision.

“Last year, a Planned Parenthood affiliate in Perth Amboy, New Jersey was caught on camera showing a willingness to aid and abet sex traffickers of young women,” Tasy said. “President Obama is clearly more concerned with protecting Planned Parenthood’s bottom line so they can continue to support his re-election campaign at the taxpayer’s expense than protecting women and girls from the violence of sex trafficking and abortion.”

Planned Parenthood got $363 million dollars from the federal government in 2010.

Planned Parenthood has a very close working relationship with the Obama administration – they even boast about it:

The Planned Parenthood abortion business has enjoyed a cozy relationship with President Barack Obama and his administration. Planned Parenthood has received millions in taxpayer funds, thanks to Obama, and its president has been a frequent visitor to the White House.

Now, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards is admitting just how close the relationship has been.

“I’ve been working with this administration for the last three years on getting women better health care access in a whole host of ways,” Richards says in a new interview with National Journal. Interestingly, the web site cuts off the rest of what Richards says before quoting her as saying Obamacare and its abortion funding components “is the single most important opportunity to expand women’s health care access in this country that we will ever see.”

What about the Republicans? Are they pro-abortion? Well, according to Dr. Michael New, 2012 had the second-highest number of pro-life laws passed at the state level.

Excerpt:

The Guttmacher Institute recently released a report which found that states enacted 39 abortion restrictions in 2012. This means that 2012 was the second-most productive year in terms of the number of pro-life bills that were passed. The only year that was more productive was 2011, which saw the enactment of 80 pieces of pro-life legislation.

[…]Three states, Arizona, Georgia, and Louisiana, have passed versions of “Pain Capable Abortion Protection Act,” which bans abortion after 20 weeks of gestation, when there is medical evidence that the unborn can feel pain. Utah became the first state to enact a 72-hour waiting period before having an abortion. Arizona and South Dakota strengthened their informed-consent laws by requiring counseling on the negative mental-health consequences of abortion.

Mississippi’s law requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a local hospital has received plenty of attention due to the fact that it may result in the closure of Mississippi’s lone abortion clinic. However, similar laws were signed this year in both Arizona and Tennessee. Some have speculated that the Tennessee law, which took effect July 1, may result in the closure of both abortion clinics in Knoxville.

When Republicans make substantial gains in state legislatures, there typically is a short-term increase in the amount of pro-life legislation that is enacted. However, the Republican gains in 2010 have resulted in considerably more pro-life legislation than the Republican gains in 1994.

You’ll remember that 2011 was the first year following the surge in elected Republicans because of the Tea Party.
