Investigation implicates North Korea in torpedo attack on South Korean vessel

In the most serious attack for over 20 years, a North Korean torpedo was found to be responsible for the sinking of the Cheonan, a 300-ft South Korean warship, which sank on March 26 with the loss of 46 lives.

[…]China, the last major ally of Pyongyang, gave a cautious and lukewarm response, saying that all parties should “remain calm” and that it would conduct its own “assessment” of the findings. Without China’s support at the UN Security Council, North Korea is likely to escape punishment.

An official report, carried out by South Korean investigators together with teams from the United States, Britain, Australia and Sweden, said the evidence pointed “overwhelmingly to the conclusion that the torpedo was fired by a North Korean submarine.” It added: “There is no other plausible explanation.”

I’m sure this attack has nothing at all to do with Obama being the president. Just like it’s purely a coincidence that we’ve suffered FIVE terrorist attacks under Obama, but NONE under Bush following his military response to the 9/11 attack in Afghanistan and Iraq. I’m sure that despots and tyrants fear Obama’s bowing and apologizing more than they fear Tomahawk cruise missiles and AC-130 gunships.

And what does Hillary Clinton think of China?

Dressed in a powder blue jacket to match the Expo’s plump, cartoonish mascot, Clinton walked through the U.S. and Chinese national “pavilions” shaking hands, posing for pictures and talking up the importance of people-to-people ties.

She avoided any public discussion of the issues that will occupy her in Beijing, including North Korea’s suspected sinking of a South Korean warship, Iran’s nuclear program, and U.S. calls for China to allow its currency to appreciate.

[…]Thanks partly to her intervention, major U.S. companies stepped up to the plate to fund the pavilion, whose attractions include three films highlighting the American way of life.

[…]Clinton handed out teddy bears to children in the audience.

The films made no explicit reference to democracy, human rights, freedom of religion or other political issues where the United States has long criticized China’s record.

The U.S. exhibit ends with a gift shop where a great many products — from teddy bears and stuffed bison to silver lapel pins and pink cowboy hats — were all marked “Made in China.”

A vote for “moral equivalence” leftists is a vote against world peace. People are having their human rights violated. People are being silenced, tortured and murdered. And what are the Democrats doing? Insulting America abroad and handing out teddy bears. Weakness. Appeasement. Emboldening the forces of evil.

New study examines effect of family structure and church attendance on women

Women (aged 14-44) who have not had a homsexual sexual partner in the past year are more likely to worship at least weekly and to have grown up in intact families than those who have had a homosexual sexual partner in the past year. According to the National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG), 2.1 percent of women who grew up in intact married families and attend religious services at least weekly have had a homosexual sexual partner in the year prior to being asked, followed by women who grew up in other family structures and worship at least weekly (4.6 percent), those who grew up in intact married families and never worship (7.3 percent), and those who grew up in other family structures and never worship (9.5 percent).

Examining structure of family of origin only, four percent of women who grew up in intact married families have had a homosexual sexual partner in the year prior to being asked, followed by women who grew up in intact cohabiting families (4.3 percent), those from married stepfamilies (6 percent), single divorced parent families (6.6 percent), always single parent families (6.6 percent), and cohabiting stepparent families (9.6 percent).

Examining current religious attendance only, 2.8 percent of women who worship at least weekly have had a homosexual sexual partner in the year prior to being asked, followed by women who worship between one and three times a month (2.9 percent), those who worship less than once a month (6.9 percent), and those who never attend religious services (8.7 percent).

How do Mexican immigration laws compare with the Arizona law?

Mexican leader Felipe Calderon has been doing a lot of complaining about Arizona’s reasonable immigration enforcement law. Calderon, who I normally like because he is conservative, thinks that Arizona’s law is too tough on illegal immigrants.

I wonder how tough Mexico’s immigration enforcement law is? It must be much more compassionate, since he is complaining about our laws, right? Otherwise Calderon would be a HYPOCRITE.

First, what does Arizona’s law say?

The revised Arizona law specifically states that a person’s immigration status can be checked only if an individual is stopped for some other, valid reason. “A lawful stop, detention or arrest must be in the enforcement of any other law or ordinance of a county, city or town or this state,” the revised law says.

You have to be STOPPED for SOME OTHER VALID REASON before they can ask you about your immigration status in the USA. That seems FAIR to me. It’s not racial profiling.

But what does Calderon say about the bill?

Calderon said while he remains “respectful of the internal policies of the United States,” he firmly rejects criminalizing “migration” so that “people who work and provide things for this nation (USA) will be treated as criminals.”

What are thing like in Mexico? Are illegal immigrants to Mexico “treated as criminals”?

By contrast, Mexican immigration law, revised in 2009, gives Mexican officials the right to check people’s immigration status, and if someone is found to be in the country illegally, they can be fined and deported. The law also requires foreigners to register with the government.

Mexico: An illegal immigrant caught can be fined $450 and deported, and if they’re caught entering illegally a second time, they can spend 10 years in prison. Furthermore, local Mexican police must assist the Federales in apprehending illegal immigrants, just like the Arizona law requires. (Of course, it’s only “intolerance, hate, discrimination” if it’s done outside of Mexico.) (On a side note, it’s illegal in Mexico for non-citizens to protest government actions.)

It turns out that American treatment of illegals is the most compassionate of all, and the complainers from other nations are HYPOCRITES.

I have a solution. Let’s pass a law saying that our policies and border security will match Mexico’s policies and border security. That should put an end to their complaining, and Obama’s complaining with it.
