Florida judge rules that Rifqa Bary must return to her Muslim parents in Ohio

Story from Fox News. (H/T Jihad Watch via Andrew)

But with two conditions – so there is hope that she may yet live.

Excerpt:

A Florida judge on Tuesday said Rifqa will be returned to Ohio once her parents meet two conditions. First, the Barys must [show] they are in the U.S. legally. The judge said he asked the couple for their immigration papers three months ago and has only seen a partial VISA and an incomplete passport. The judge said a contempt of court charge is a possibility if he doesn’t get the paperwork.

Second, the Barys must prove that the teenager can continue the virtual high school program she began in Florida while in Ohio.

Bary’s parents have filed a criminal complaint against the Central Florida pastors who assisted their daughter.

Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs was at the hearing and has more. Sounds like she will be returned to a foster home for 30 days and then sent back to her parents, unless the parents fail to meet the Florida judge’s two conditions.

UK set to release 30 high-risk terrorists in order to appease future terrorists

The Times of India reports. (H/T ECM)

Excerpt:

Up to 30 “high-risk” terrorists — including some of the most dangerous men in Britain —are due to be released from jail in the next year.

More are being freed in the wake of a ruling by Britain’s most senior judges that long sentences for terrorist crimes could “inflame” rather than deter extremism.

An analysis of appeal court cases shows that of the 26 terrorism cases it has heard, 25 have led to men with terrorism convictions having their sentences reduced. Others are being released because they serve only part of their term.

Think of the signals being sent to British intelligence when convicted terrorists are released early. And think of the signals being sent to the CIA when their operatives are similarly threatened here in the USA. What is happening here is that terrorists are becoming emboldened and law enforcement is becoming deterred from catching criminals. Why work hard when it accomplishes nothing?

Indian teen and her brother fight off Muslim militants in Kashmir

Story from the BBC. (H/T Shalini)

Excerpt:

Three militants stormed into Rukhsana Kauser’s home in a remote village in Jammu region on Monday and started beating her parents in front of her.

Ms Kauser, 18, and her brother turned on the gunmen, killing one and injuring two more. Police praised their courage.

One of the militants wanted to marry Ms Kauser against her will, police said.

The militants escaped and are now being sought by police who are using their blood trails as clues.

[…]Ms Kauser said she grabbed one of the militants by the hair and banged his head against the wall. When he fell down she hit him with an axe, before snatching his rifle.

“I fired endlessly. The militant commander got 12 shots on his body.”

This is why I am a huge proponent of concealed carry permits for women. India needs to loosen up restrictions on firearm ownership by law-abiding citizens, while simultaneously increasing the penalties for committing crimes involving a firearm. That should level the playing field.

Here is my previous story on the perils of public transportation for women.
