Today’s episode is on natural law and the rule of law.

This is wonderful for Christians to watch. When you watch them, think about how your life goals are much easier with these policies as opposed the policies in North Korea or Cuba. Your liberties, including your precious religious liberty, all hangs on these ideas. You cannot conduct a Christian life if you are taxed too much, or if the government indoctrinates your children in government-run schools, or if you cannot even afford books on apologetics and theology because you have no money left over after buying food. Think about your Christian life as an enterprise – what do you need from the government, the courts and the private sector in order to succeed?

Is there a Constitutional basis for ObamaCare?

At least Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) gives it a few tries.  First she argued “If we can build national highways,” but Adam Sharp noted that the Constitution does include the authority to build interstate “post roads.”  Next, Schakowsky says enacting civil-rights legislation creates some sort of odd precedent, even though those acts existed to enforce the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments of the Constitution.  Schakowsky gives it one last try on Medicare and Social Security, even though the former is voluntary and the latter is an explicit government program (albeit also of dubious Constitutional authority).  There exists no Constitutional reference to force Americans to buy a private product, and Schakowsky winds up walking away…

You’ll remember that this is the same woman who thinks that Obama’s public option would lead to single-payer health care.

So it looks like the Illinois guy from last week was not an anomaly at all. Democrats don’t like explaining where in the Constitution they get the authority for their big spending.

NRSC releases new “Prove Them Wrong” video

This is called a Gadsen flag.

Now, normally, I warn everyone to not give money to the NRSC, because they have a terrible habit of backing liberal, establishment candidates. Well, a funny thing happened – they’re giving lots of money to the Tea Party candidates and nothing to the establishment candidates.

Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell and Joe Miller are ALL in the video. And a Gadsen flag!

Looking at preliminary investments, the NRSC is spending or has spent funds on most competitive U.S. Senate races involving Tea Party-backed Republicans:

—In Kentucky, the NRSC is on the air statewide and has reserved just under $2 million on ad buys for GOP candidate Rand Paul. During the primary, Republican Trey Grayson had the backing of the establishment.

—In Colorado, the NRSC is also on the air statewide in support of Republican Ken Buck, who bested the establishment-backed Jane Norton in the primary. A total of $3.2 million is reserved by the NRSC for ad buys in support of Buck.

—In Nevada, the NRSC has reserved $700,000 in statewide television for GOP nominee and Tea Party-backed Sharron Angle.

—In Pennsylvania, $3 million is reserved for TV for Republican nominee Pat Toomey.

—No airtime has been reserved for Christine O’Donnell in Delaware and Joe Miller in Alaska, but the NRSC has donated $42,600 — the maximum donation allowable under law — to both campaigns.

It’s amazing! I still think you should only give money to specific candidates, but the NRSC sure is smartening up.
