You might think that electing Democrats would be wonderful for the poor. You’d think that, because Democrats are always talking about the poor people and how much they want to help them. And how will they help them? By taxing and regulating businesses. And what do the businesses do? They pass the higher taxes and fees onto the consumers, of course.

The Tennessee Star explains:

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released data Tuesday showing a sharp increase in consumer prices, especially gasoline, as many Americans struggle to make ends meet.

March saw a 0.6% increase in consumer prices, the largest spike in nearly a decade. That increase can be attributed in large part to a rise in inflation.

However, increased inflation, a rise in demand for crude oil, and the Biden administration’s proposed new taxes and regulatory measures could send gas and energy prices soaring even higher in the months to come, critics contend.

In March, gasoline prices rose 9.1% and natural gas rose 2.5%, contributing to an overall increase of 5% for energy costs last month. For the year, food prices are up 3.5%, gasoline prices are up 22.5%, and overall energy prices are up 13.2%.

The rise in costs come as many Americans struggle financially during the COVID-19 pandemic and President Joe Biden considers tax increases and more regulations that critics say would slow economic growth.

During a Monday meeting with lawmakers, Biden reportedly expressed openness to adding five cents to the federal gas tax, which would be a 27% increase over the current 18.4 cents.

And this is the key point about gas prices going up:

The increase in energy prices, particularly gasoline, leads to an overall spike in the price of consumer goods. When drivers spend more on gasoline to transport goods to market, that cost is passed on to consumers.

Who suffers the most from higher gas prices? And who suffers the most from the effect of higher gas prices on other consumer goods? It’s not the wealthy elites who vote for Democrats. It’s the people who are barely getting by. When you cancel pipelines, and raise corporate tax rates, you raise the prices that individuals pay for basic necessities of life. If was TRUMP who lowered corporate tax rates, and TRUMP who pursued an all-of-the-above energy policy. That’s why we had jobs and that’s why we had low gas prices.

Next time we have an election, let’s focus on policies, instead of telling everyone how good we are, because we disagree with mean men who write mean tweets.

A CNN staffer admitted in a secretly recorded video that his network produced “propaganda” to oust former President Donald Trump during the 2020 presidential election — and bragged about their success.

Charlie Chester, a technical Director at the cable network, was filmed by Project Veritas during a series of fake Tinder dates as he explained how they “got Trump out” of office.

“Look what we did, we [CNN] got Trump out. I am 100​ percent going to say it, and I 100​ percent believe that if it wasn’t for CNN, I don’t know that Trump would have got voted out,” Chester said, adding that he came to work at CNN because he ​​”wanted to be a part of that.”

“Our focus was to get Trump out of office, right? Without saying it, that’s what it was.”

Chester explained how they overdramatized Trump health issues by bringing in medical experts.

“[Trump’s] hand was shaking or whatever, I think. We brought in so many medical people to all tell a story that was all speculation – that he was neurologically damaged, and he was losing it. He’s unfit to – you know – whatever. We were creating a story there that we didn’t know anything about. I think that’s propaganda,” he said.

Wow, he admitted it. CNN employee admits that CNN is propaganda. We’d better be careful with this, because this is how the secular left takes power – by lying their way into power.

The CNN staffer who was secretly recorded admitting the network used “propaganda” to help get Joe Biden elected president also said they played up the COVID-19 death toll for ratings — and that the order came down directly from top brass.

“Any reporter on CNN, what they’re actually doing is they’re telling the person what to say. It’s always, like, leading them in a direction before they even open their mouths,” he said.

“And the only people we let on air, for the most part, are people that have a proven track record of taking the bait.”

It’s so amazing that Project Veritas is able to get this information out into the public. I’ve blogged about academic studies that confirmed the pro-Democrat bias of the mainstream news media before. You can find out how they think by analyzing their sources, their words, and their political contributions. But this is something else. Now we have CNN admitting to their Democrat bias in their own words. What’s amazing is how many American voters still watch this garbage and think they are getting real journalism. CNN is fake news, and the people who watch it are lazy and uninformed.

Policing in the United States is “intentionally racist” and “can’t be reformed,” U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib tweeted Monday night, a day after a White Minnesota police officer reportedly mistook her pistol for her Taser and fatally shot a Black man.

[…]”It wasn’t an accident,” she wrote. “Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist. Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder. No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed.”

As of Tuesday afternoon, the tweet had been liked more than 20,000 times, retweeted more than 4,000 times — and had received thousands of replies supporting Tlaib’s call for abolishing police and thousands of others panning it.

It seems like abolishing the police and abolishing the armed forces and releasing all violent prisoners has significant support within the Democrat party.

A solid body of evidence finds no structural bias in the criminal-justice system with regard to arrests, prosecution or sentencing, Mac Donald writes; rather, crime and suspect behavior, not race, determine most police actions. [Heather] Mac Donald writes:

In 2019 police officers fatally shot 1,004 people, most of whom were armed or otherwise dangerous. African-Americans were about a quarter of those killed by cops last year (235), a ratio that has remained stable since 2015. That share of black victims is less than what the black crime rate would predict, since police shootings are a function of how often officers encounter armed and violent suspects. In 2018, the latest year for which such data have been published, African-Americans made up 53% of known homicide offenders in the U.S. and commit about 60% of robberies, though they are 13% of the population.

The police fatally shot nine unarmed blacks and 19 unarmed whites in 2019, according to a Washington Post database, down from 38 and 32, respectively, in 2015. The Post defines “unarmed” broadly to include such cases as a suspect in Newark, N.J., who had a loaded handgun in his car during a police chase. In 2018 there were 7,407 black homicide victims. Assuming a comparable number of victims last year, those nine unarmed black victims of police shootings represent 0.1% of all African-Americans killed in 2019. By contrast, a police officer is 18½ times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male is to be killed by a police officer.

Mac Donald further highlights violence that was committed against blacks over the weekend in Chicago and notes that the reason that blacks die from homicide at a rate 8X higher than whites and Latinos combined is not because of the police, but because of crime.

Mac Donald also highlights studies by both the Justice Department under President Obama and the finding of an African-American Harvard economist:

A 2015 Justice Department analysis of the Philadelphia Police Department found that white police officers were less likely than black or Hispanic officers to shoot unarmed black suspects. Research by Harvard economist Roland G. Fryer Jr. also found no evidence of racial discrimination in shootings. Any evidence to the contrary fails to take into account crime rates and civilian behavior before and during interactions with police.

Researchers in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found similar results. “We find no evidence of anti-Black or anti-Hispanic disparities across shootings, and White officers are not more likely to shoot minority civilians than non-White officers,” the report found. “Instead, race-specific crime strongly predicts civilian race. This suggests that increasing diversity among officers by itself is unlikely to reduce racial disparity in police shootings.”

Democrat legislator Rashida Tlaib has armed security, fences and other protective measures. Her policies can only hurt you. You’re paying for her salary, by the way. But she thinks she’s there to protect criminals and terrorists. Personally, I’m already living in semi-rural suburbs. I have a plan to move out even further when I retire in 4 years. I hope you have a plan for dealing with the abolition of the police and military, too.
