New study: 70% of households headed by immigrants are collecting welfare

Net annual cost of illegal immigration
Net annual cost of illegal immigration

The Washington Times reports on the latest numbers from the Census Bureau.

Excerpt:

The latest Census Bureau numbers find that more than seven of 10 households headed by immigrants in California, and nearly the same amount in Texas, are on the taxpayer dole.

[…]According to the latest numbers from 2014, fully 63 percent of non-citizens are living off at least one welfare program. That translates into 4.68 million households.

[…]“Concern over immigrant welfare use is justified, as households headed by non-citizens’ use means means-tested welfare at high rates,” said the Center for Immigration Studies, in its report on the numbers. “Non-citizens in the data include illegal immigrants, long-term temporary visitors like guest workers, and permanent residents who have not naturalized.”

What’s most troublesome about the Census findings is the fact that the 63 percent of non-citizens on welfare actually grows to 70 percent for those who stay in-country 10 years or longer — meaning the entitlement mind only solidifies.

Meaning non-citizens on welfare don’t tend to get off welfare.

The reason I am posting about this study is because of the widespread perception on the left that all opposition to illegal immigration is just caused by racism. And similarly, support for border security has nothing to do with preventing crime and protecting our national security. It’s all caused by racism too. Well, when you look at a study like this, you can clearly see that people who oppose illegal immigration and support border security have other things on their minds than racism.

Right now, we are nearly $28 trillion in debt. And it’s climbing by over $1 trillion per year. We’re already spending too much money. Interest on the debt is becoming a larger and larger part of our budget, leaving less money for real priorities like defense and infrastructure. Someone is going to have to pay for all these handouts that are driving us into debt. Young people people have the most to lose, because they have their whole professional lives ahead of them.

I just want to be clear about something. I am very much in favor of skilled immigration. I think that people who come here to WORK  should be allowed to come here to WORK. While they are WORKING they should be ineligible for collecting any money from the government. They should not be able to vote or influence elections. They should not be able to bring any of their non-working relatives here. They should be deported if they commit a felony. They should be deported if they lose or quit their jobs. And if they are able to keep working, following the law, and staying off the dole, for a period of 10 years, then they should be allowed to apply for green cards. But our current system isn’t oriented towards skilled immigrants. All the concern on the left AND on the right AND in the churches is about refugees and illegal immigrants.

Personally, I think we could be a LOT more accepting of skilled immigrants if we got rid of all the welfare programs. After all, if there is no welfare to be collected, then why would people even want to come here? The only reason they would come would be for the right reason – for liberty. And in order to stay, they would have to work and follow the law. That’s who we want to bring in. If we only brought in law-abiding workers, then we could be a lot more generous about letting people of all races in.

And from a political point of view, we don’t do well when we import a bunch of big government liberals from countries that don’t accept American ideals, like individual liberty and limited government.

As far as I’m concerned, there should only be two paths to citizenship for immigrants: skilled labor and military service. And both of those for 10 years minimum. But that’s not how the current system works. I just want everyone to understand that this is not an issue that has no effect on taxpayers. If we bring in unskilled immigrants and refugees, then we are going to have to pay for their schooling, their health care, and maybe even basics like food and spending money.

Biden gives biological men access to women’s sports, bathrooms and locker rooms

Enraged Joe Biden howls out his hatred for Bible-believing Christians

The Federalist:

President Joe Biden issued an executive order on his first day in office, mandating that any schools that receive federal funding must function as if biological males who claim to be females are the same, and vice versa, or risk losing that funding. This pro-transgender policy extends to male athletes who claim their gender identity as a female should allow them to compete on women’s teams, receive women’s scholarships, and be admitted in women’s locker rooms.

[…]During his campaign, Biden also vowed to use the Department of Education to investigate and address any violations of transgender students’ civil rights, including removing federal school funding or risking legal action. His new executive order also mandates that every agency must act to ensure the enforcement of this new rule within 100 days of Jan. 20.

The Federalist:

In sum, this executive order combined with Supreme Court precedent amounts to imposing a national sexual orientation and gender identity law on the entire country.

[…]Several years ago, a mother told me what her daughters did when transgender students were admitted to their bathrooms in their Las Vegas public high school. They stopped going to the bathroom and using the showers at school. I broke a story about a Florida public school where a coach told me middle-school boys ran out of the showers and locker room, some undressed, in alarm because they found a girl there next to them while they changed and showered. She was transgender, and the coach was threatened with losing his job if he refused to supervise her with the boys in the showers.

Nobody warned the coach or parents of these boys this was going to happen to them. In fact, the Obama administration’s guidance that Biden is reviving explicitly instructed schools not to tell parents. It violates the transgender students’ rights to privacy, you see.

Girls and boys like these, and those too young or unprepared to take action to defend their modesty and innocence, are now to be told to shut up and deny the fears other people have decided to inflict upon them in the name of “equality,” “respect,” and “dignity.” In true Orwellian fashion, Biden proclaims he is seeking goodness while destroying it.

[…]These kinds of policies have been used to persecute religious believers, free speech advocates, medical practitioners, and all who affirm the reality that humankind comes in two varieties, and two only: male and female. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi led Democrats in making House rules that ban the use of terms such as “mother,” “father,” “sister,” and “brother” in new federal laws. Will these kinds of speech bans also be applied to public schools, colleges, and other recipients of federal funds? What about cities and state governments? Hospitals?

You’d better believe it. Federal money is everywhere, giving Biden’s team, commissioned in the order with applying its principles to every area of federal influence possible, plenty of opportunities to harass nuns, other people who pray, little boys and girls in locker rooms, female high school and college athletes and scholarship aspirants — anyone anywhere who dares to live by the obvious reality that men and women are absolutely equal but we are not the same.

These are two of the five major policy changes from the Equality Act. I don’t like that women are denied a path to sports. And I really don’t like that women don’t have bathrooms and locker rooms where they can feel safe. I wonder if the people who voted for Biden knew that this was coming on day one. I knew, but so many people are in an echo chamber of liberal news, including ignorant but otherwise very successful Christians who like to underestimate these threats.

Biden’s first day agenda: who benefits?

It’s not Americans.

Daily Wire reports:

On Wednesday, NBC News reported on President Biden’s plans to “hit the ground running,” listing the plans Biden has announced for his first day in office, including:

    • Rejoin Paris Agreement
    • Repeal Trump travel ban
    • Halt border wall construction
    • Mask mandate
    • Extend eviction freeze
    • Unveil immigration plan
    • Extend student loan pause
    • Revoke permit for Keystone XL pipeline

NBC News reported Wednesday that “Biden will sign more than a dozen executive actions Wednesday when he arrives at the White House after having been sworn in as the 46th president, including measures to rejoin the Paris Agreement on climate change, repeal Trump’s restrictions on travel from several Muslim-majority countries, stop construction of the Southern border wall and mandate wearing masks on federal property.”

As Dan Crenshaw notes, cutting off domestic oil helps Russia, because they will pick up the slack when we can’t sell our oil.

Fox Business:

According to the Keystone XL website, the project, initially proposed more than a decade ago, would sustain about 11,000 U.S. jobs in 2021 – including 8,000 union jobs – and generate $1.6 billion in gross wages.

It is unclear how the Biden administration plans to address the job losses, but his $2 trillion clean energy infrastructure plan, with its goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest, aims to “create millions of good-paying jobs that provide workers with the choice to join a union and bargain collectively with their employers,” according to his website.

The plan targets the creation of 1 million jobs within the auto industry; “millions” of jobs within the power sector; 1 million jobs in building construction; 250,000 jobs “plugging abandoned oil and natural gas wells” and more.

The Paris Agreement is disregarded from China and other mass polluters, it just hampers our economy in every way – raising our energy prices and destroying our economy. Trump had already led the world in cutting emissions without it.

New York Post:

Joe Biden will rejoin the Paris climate agreement soon after being inaugurated as president of the United States. Climate change, according to Biden, is “an existential threat” to the nation, and to combat it, he proposes to spend $500 billion each year on climate policies — the equivalent of $1,500 per person.

[…]Rejoining the Paris agreement will solve very little at a high cost. By the UN’s estimates, if all nations live up to all their promises, they will reduce global temperature by less than 0.09 degrees Fahrenheit by 2100.

And Paris is costly, because it forces economies to use less or more expensive energy. Across many studies, the drag to the economies is estimated at between $1 trillion and $2 trillion in lost GDP every year after 2030.

Stopping the wall will let in low-skilled illegal immigrants, which passes on costs for emergency room health care, schools, crime, etc. on to the law-abiding tax-payers. It’s a disaster. But that’s what many low-information American voters chose.

And the economy will also suffer because he’s going to put political correctness above prosperity.

Far-left Axios:

Why it matters: Biden is charting an economic policy that’s visibly to the left of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. If he succeeds, it’s going to show up not only in taxes and spending, but also in regulation.

Who to watch: Biden is being pulled to the left on economic policy not only by the Democratic Party, but also by economic orthodoxy.

Led by incoming Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the economic policy team has signaled that it will be the first administration ever to construct economic policy around issues like race, gender equality and climate change, rather than around traditional indicators like gross domestic product or deficit ratios.

I hope you’re ready for poverty and unemployment. But think how good the Democrats will feel about themselves.
