(Note: Chicago is one of the most anti-gun cities in the United States, if not the most anti-gun)
This is from the leftist New York Times, so I’ll have to separate fact from fiction.
Here’s some fact:
Cities across the nation are seeing a startling rise in murders after years of declines, and few places have witnessed a shift as precipitous as this city. With the summer not yet over, 104 people have been killed this year — after 86 homicides in all of 2014.
More than 30 other cities have also reported increases in violence from a year ago. In New Orleans, 120 people had been killed by late August, compared with 98 during the same period a year earlier. In Baltimore, homicides had hit 215, up from 138 at the same point in 2014. In Washington, the toll was 105, compared with 73 people a year ago. And in St. Louis, 136 people had been killed this year, a 60 percent rise from the 85 murders the city had by the same time last year.
Now, non-Americans might be tempted to think that America is filled with gun violence, but actually, the gun violence is relegated to the major cities, which are run by Democrats. And sometimes, like with Detroit, there has not been a Republican running things for years. Cities like Washington and Chicago have very, very anti-gun policies, so criminals understand that they can commit crimes with impunity – their victims are likely to be unarmed. The only thing standing between law-abiding citizens and crime are the police and the prisons. Unfortunately, liberals are opposed to both the police and the prison system. They want to handicap the police by crying “racism” all the time, and they want to release criminals from the prisons. Bottom line: in cities run by Democrats, there is no deterrent.
President Obama has been particularly hard on police officers, claiming that their attempts to enforce the law are motivated by racism. And Obama’s supporters are getting the message.

Let’s talk a look at some rhetoric from a radio show.
Breitbart News reports:
One of the F***YoFlag organizers is called “Sunshine.” She has a radio blog show hosted from Texas called, “Sunshine’s F***ing Opinion Radio Show.”
[…]During the show, callers clearly call for “lynching” and “killing” of white people.
Callers:
They conspired that if “cops started losing people,” then “there will be a state of emergency.”
[…]Another black man spoke up saying they needed to kill “cops that are killing us. The first black male said, “That will be the best method right there.”
So there are actually police officers getting killed. Here’s one story from Reuters:
Houston-area officials on Saturday blamed the shooting death of a sheriff’s deputy on anti-police sentiment around the country over policing and race.
[…]Harris County deputy Darren Goforth, in uniform, was pumping gas into his patrol car on Friday night when the gunman approached from behind and fired several shots, sheriff’s officials said. No motive has been reported.
[…]”Our system of justice absolutely requires a law enforcement presence to protect our communities, so at any point where the rhetoric ramps up to the point where calculated cold-blooded assassination of police officers happen(s). This rhetoric has gotten out of control,” Hickman said.
[…]The suspect in video of the Goforth shooting appeared to be black. The deputy was white.
Television stations showed footage provided by police, from a gas station surveillance video that caught the ambush of Goforth, a 10-year veteran of the sheriff’s department, who left behind a wife and two young children.
Now it’s important to note that in this Houston killing, we don’t have the clear motive yet that we had in the case of the two New York police officers who were murdered. In fact, the shooter here has a history of medical illness. Still, this event will have an affect on police.
What happens to police officers in the face of these murders, and in the face of this rhetoric, and in the face of these Democrat politicians like Obama and Holder blaming police for enforcing the law? Well, the police naturally start to wonder whether it’s worth it to risk their lives so much.
In Alabama, one white police officer was so scared about being perceived as racist, that he let a black criminal take his gun and pistol whip him. The UK Daily Mail explains:
Alabama police are outraged after photos of a detective beaten bloody by a suspect who stole his gun during a traffic stop were shared by witnesses and praised on social media.
The suspect, 34-year-old Janard Cunningham, is charged with attempted murder for allegedly assaulting the six-year veteran following a traffic stop at a shopping center in Roebuck around 11am Friday.
[…]During the traffic stop, the detective pulled over Cunningham’s SUV and told him to stay in the car while he waited for backup to arrive.
Cunningham is said to have fled the scene after beating the officer until he didn’t move anymore. A second suspect was released without any charges
The suspect disobeyed that order, questioned why he had been stopped and then struck the officer in the head with his own weapon, AL.com reported.
The beating reportedly continued until the officer was no longer moving, with Cunningham then fleeing the scene.
[…]After the arrest, photos of the bloodied detective began popping up on social media, with some commenters applauding what happened.
Other Alabama officers were angered by the outpouring of support for the suspect.
Birmingham police Sgt Heath Boackle, president of the Fraternal Order of Police, said: ‘He was laying there lifeless and people were standing around taking pictures.
‘If the tables were turned, and that was a suspect lying there, they would be rioting.’
So what does this all mean? Well, to me it means that I need to be very careful about where I am going to live, because I can’t count on the police to come and rescue me as much as I could before. They are seeing what is happening, and they don’t want to die for people who don’t respect them. What is interesting is that the epidemic of black on black crime is going to get worse if police withdraw. And I think they should really think twice about stopping crimes in places where they are likely to get into trouble. Eventually, people will get the message. I would also say that now would be a good time to move to states that allow you to own firearms, and allow you to use them – i.e., states dominated by Republicans. The Democrat plan to control crime is this: you can’t own guns, and the police need to be intimidated into not doing their jobs. And it doesn’t help that Democrats keep encouraging fatherlessness by paying women to have babies before they get married. Fatherless men commit more crimes.

there is no such thing as black on black crime-it’s just crime. Do we refer to whites who kill each other as white on white crime or asians or hispanics? no we do not. It’s should be common sense that if you live in a community of your race that the crimes committed will mostly be by those of your race. So this whole black on black crime is pure bullshit, its just crime. Police brutality is a real issue and constantly bring up black on black crime its is distraction from the real issue and that is some cops (not all) are rotten apples, and they are corrupting the system. If the police want the public to trust in them again then get rid of the corrupt cops plain and simple. At the end of the day with all these crimes of cops abusing their power on the black community needs to stop. As an african-american woman I have experience in my 24 years on this planet micro-agressions and racial profiling. I have been followed in stores by white employees as if I was going to steal something and I have been stop by police while walking home from school for no reason. So the cries of the black community of police brutality is all too real for us as a people in this country.
Just because racism and discrimination is not as wide and big as it was in the 1960’s and before does not mean it magical went away, it just went undercover. We are still dealing with these issues when we should not be,and it will only get worse unless we as americans address the issues and try to fix it and stop living in this bubble and blinding ourselves to the truth. Also not only blacks are experiencing racism but there are others who experience racism and prejudice as well for example middle-eastern americans especially if they are muslims due to 9/11. Yes some Muslims destroy the twin towers but does that mean we as the American populace have to treat every single middle-eastern as a terrorist? no we do not but we do. Christians are feeling persecuted because they are realizing that they are not the only religion in this country which is a melting pot of various cultures and with those cultures comes their belief system, so we have christians now fighting for religious freedom which is the same thing that muslims,buddhist,hindius, wiccans, atheist,satanist etc want as well. Personally I love the diversity, if we as human being were not diverse, I probably would not have made the friends that I have, I have learned something from every single one of them and it has made me who I am today.

For every incident of police brutality, there are a million instances of black-on-black crime. The hypocrisy of the #BlackLivesMatter movement is that they think that black lives only matter in the hundred cases where a white police officer shoots a black criminal. They don’t care about the hundred THOUSAND murders of black people by other black people. Those black lives (and there are many, many, many more of them) DON’T MATTER. Because this is about politics. If black lives really mattered, then the welfare for single mothers would be cut off, there would be school choice and vouchers, and affirmative action would be rolled back at the college level.
There is no epidemic of white police offers shooting Asians because they are a different race. Do you know why that is? It’s because there is no epidemic of fatherlessness leading to crime in the Asian community.

There is no hypocrisy in the #blacklivesmatter movement. That hashtag along with #blackgirlsrock was creating because in this american society we feel as if our lives do not matter and that are black females do not feel beautiful and I mean our natural beauty, no skin lightening cream and no relaxed hair or weave in the hair our blue contacts and blonde hair . Also we do care when our own people kill each other just because it is not alway put on the media and shown by fox news does not mean we do not care so don’t get it twisted. Also they are plenty of african-american men taking care of their children just as I have seen asian and white men not taking care of their children. Again it is not black on black crime it is just crime, whites kill each other all the damn time, shooting up schools, kidnapping kids etc but they media doe not portray those white shoot up schools as thugs and those kids are strapped more than black children living in the ghettos, but the media does not show them as thugs, oh no they are seen as poor souls who were bullied or they have mental issue and their picture when shown on television is the best school picture in order to gain sympathy for this man who shoot poor little school children or a freaking movie theater.
The media is quite biased when it comes to black and white but it is hard for a non-black person to understand our struggles but you never had to live them and again just because it is 2015 does not mean anything, the same issues and methods used to keep people in a situation position is still there just under a different name.

Yes, i remember but even though you are a poc it still does not mean you know what it is like to be black. Its the same as that I’m a woman and i will never know what it is like to be you, a male.

I know what it’s like. I was raised dirt-poor, the son of first-generation immigrants. My Dad worked three jobs, and was told to go back to his home country many times by white people. I know very well what’s it’s like as much as any colored person knows.

Even as an immigrant, your father fair better than my family. On my mother side I come from a family of share croppers, my great grandmother was a sharecropper. She was taken outta school in the third grade to help, so she never got the education she wanted to be a nurse. I am the first in my family to go to college and that is a very big deal especially in the black community.

My mother never went high school. They had to do their degrees in night school while working. My dad was fired for sleeping when he was working as a security guard, and he was also working in a flower shop.

Its tough, my mom finished high school but never went to college cause she had me. My dad has four girls with four different women, i’m the middle child and he is on his second wife.

My mom didn’t go to high school, because in my parents’ home country, they could only afford to send one of three sisters in that family. The others did farm work. My Dad used to pick crops in the middle of the night with his Dad, and once he fell asleep and woke up in the dark.
