Everyone celebrate diversity: three married lesbians set to raise fatherless children

Dina tweeted this UK Daily Mail article about three Massachusetts (where else?) lesbians.

Excerpt:

The world’s only ‘married’ lesbian threesome are expecting their first child.

Doll, Kitten and Brynn, from Massachusetts, were joined together in a marriage-style ceremony last August and are expecting a daughter in July.

Kitten, 27, is pregnant after undergoing IVF treatment using an anonymous sperm donor, and the trioeventually plan to have three children – one for each of them.

[…]Doll, Kitten and Brynn Young married in a ceremony in August 2013, when each of their fathers walked them down the aisle. All three women wore white wedding gowns and exchanged rings.

All three of the women will be so happy, and what’s the harm? Children don’t need fathers. Well, maybe they do, since that’s what the research says. BUT who cares what children need? They are just objects to amuse the adults anyway, am I right? Of course I am. I’m sure that child, when he grows up, is going to be so thankful to these women for her conception by anonymous sperm donor. That’s not going to cause any problems at all, will it? Young women do so well without fathers.

  1. It’s interesting that they want one child for each of them. Don’t they share? Maybe they already realize (even if they won’t admit it) that children don’t actually have 3 mothers and that they can’t really share their children like a real married couple can.

  2. “when each of their fathers walked them down the aisle. All three women wore white wedding gowns and exchanged rings. ” What kind of father would encourage this? Especially since lesbian relationships have the highest domestic violence rates. I know they’ll provide a stable home to raise a family *sarcasm*

  3. “Young women do so well without fathers.” And even having fathers is no guarantee, as these 3 lesbians showed. What kind of a man would walk his daughter down the aisle for this kind of thing?!? (This is the state that is holding Justina Pelletier in captivity also.)

  4. The public doesn’t care about fatherless. I seen local news outlets and even CNN do some great reporting a few years back and nothing…. A detailed report on paternal engagement related to marital status gets no social media recognition…. 3 lesbians & a sperm donors gets shard a thousand times over.

We have one section of law that states marriage and paternity are stronglt linked, then an exception in the name of equality it has none.

A decade ago liberals were very concerned about poverty of children connected to children lack of father involvement…. today left and right no one cares about the public policy of marriage. Except the churches, specifically urban with larger minority populations.

  5. Everyone needs to bear in mind that this in no way substantiates the “slippery slope fallacy” put forth by those cursed right-wing extremists. No one is pushing for polyamorous unions. This is just…uh…you know…uh…..

I would also warn against the possibility of a union of three women falling into a two against one dynamic, because that could never happen.

  6. Truth in our society is in the eye of the beholder. It doesn’t matter what stats say, they can be denied because of all types of varying influences on a stat.

This is what relativism gets you! We can be sarcastic, but our culture is paying the price, and unfortunately these women and this child will pay a price. They will…. regardless of what they believe.

What is truth in our world anymore? The Romans couldn’t decide what was true and their culture was destroyed.

“….37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.

Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”

38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate.”
