Story from the Wall Street Journal.
A tiny car company backed by former Vice President Al Gore has just gotten a $529 million U.S. government loan to help build a hybrid sports car in Finland that will sell for about $89,000.
The award this week to California startup Fisker Automotive Inc. follows a $465 million government loan to Tesla Motors Inc., purveyors of a $109,000 British-built electric Roadster. Tesla is a California startup focusing on all-electric vehicles, with a number of celebrity endorsements that is backed by investors that have contributed to Democratic campaigns.
[…]Kalee Kreider, a spokeswoman for Mr. Gore, confirmed that the former vice president backs Fisker and purchased a Karma.
[…]Fisker’s top investors include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a veteran Silicon Valley venture-capital firm of which Gore is a partner. Employees of KPCB have donated more than $2.2 million to political campaigns, mostly for Democrats, including President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan group that tracks campaign contributions.
This story reminds me of Obama’s massive government subsidies for the Brazilian oil company backed by George Soros.
See even though Al Gore knows less about science than my keyboard, he still understands profit and greed. Now may be a good time to review Marsha Blackburn’s efforts to get him to come clean about the relationship between greed and global warming alarmism.
The death of the hockey-stick graph
This is all especially interesting in light of the the story from Steve McIntyre of Climate Audit, who has demolished the myth of the hockey stick graph. Watts Up With That has more here. Watts explains how tree ring growth is used to measure temperature changes here. The data from Steve McIntyre is being supported by further analysis here. (see graph below)

This image is from Watts Up What That. All I can think of is being taught sex education and global warming for hour after hour in public schools. What a waste of my time and taxpayer money, just so that the left could indoctrinate me in their views.

This really irks me to the max. How many hungry and bright entrepreneurs are there in the United States that could use a 50K small business loan? If this Finnish company and car are so great, don’t you think they would have investors or a Finnish bank would lend to them? The amount of fraud and corruption these days from both active and reitred US politicians is staggering and disenfranchising.

Oh yea, and Al Gore, if global warming is such a real and measurable threat, how come I froze my butt off this summer?
