By the way, I have been making up a list of movies for a young lady I really like.

She is sort of learning more about what men are supposed to be like and how to take care of them. You know what… lately, I have been thinking of what it is like when a woman really understands a man and supports him in being a good man. It really is a wonderful thing.

-Band of Brothers (mini-series—not a big fan of the politics of Spielberg and Hanks, but I think they did a great job with this series-more importantly, if you get a DVD series that has the interviews with the actual soldiers, even beter)
-Twelve Angry men (when all others were ready to take the easy way out, one man held fast to finding the truth–courage of a different sort)
-To Kill a Mockingbird (Gregory Peck’s portrayal of Atticus Finch projected quiet manliness and courage)
Balls of Fury (just kidding)
I haven’t seen Bella, but from what I’ve heard, it also gives her an idea of what you think is important in a woman’s character. I think recommending movies is a good way to suggest to another something about one’s personality and beliefs. Cool idea.

I’ll add High Noon to the list.
For The Count of Monte Cristo, the book is much better, although it is a good movie. The movie just doesn’t do it justice – everything happens too fast. But it’s one of my favorite books.
