Vanderbilt University Medical Center explains how sex-change surgery is a “big money maker”

Conservative podcaster Matt Walsh posted an amazing thread on Tuesday night, all about the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  He dug up a whole ton of information about the VUMC, and even though they tried to delete it all, he downloaded everything. Let’s take a look at what he tweeted, then we’ll learn more about the people at the VUMC, and see what happens next.

First, the thread of tweets is here. I made an easier to read “unroll” of the tweets here.

Here is some of it:

BREAKING: My team and I have been investigating the transgender clinic at Vanderbilt here in Nashville. Vanderbilt drugs, chemically castrates, and performs double mastectomies on minors. But it gets worse. Here is what we found. Let’s start at the beginning.

Vanderbilt opened its trans clinic in 2018. During a lecture the same year, Dr. Shayne Taylor explained how she convinced Nashville to get into the gender transition game. She emphasized that it’s a “big money maker,” especially because the surgeries require a lot of “follow ups”.

Vanderbilt was apparently concerned that not all of its staff would be on board. Dr. Ellen Clayton warned that “conscientious objections” are “problematic.” Anyone who decides not to be involved in transition surgeries due to “religious beliefs” will face “consequences”.

[…]Vanderbilt makes… make lots of “services” available to children, including chemical castration. Though at some point in the last month they removed explicit admission of this fact from their site. Here’s the archived screenshot.

But they must have forgot to delete a video from Vanderbilt Psychiatry’s Youtube channel back in 2020 which admits explicitly that they will give and have given irreversible hormone drugs to children as young as 13.

After they have drugged and sterilized the kids, Vanderbilt — as explained in this video presentation by plastic surgeon Julien Winocour and Physician’s Assistant Shalyn Vanderbloemen — will happily perform double mastectomies on adolescent girls.

As soon as Matt Walsh posted all the screenshots and videos on Twitter, they took down their entire web site. Fortunately, Matt tweeted that his team grabbed all the evidence before they started tweeting about it.

Here is more from Daily Wire:

“It’s a lot of money,” VUMC Clinic for Transgender Health’s Dr. Shayne Sebold Taylor said at one Medicine Grand Rounds lecture, video reveals. “These surgeries make a lot of money.”

Taylor noted that a “chest reconstruction” can bring in $40,000 per patient, and someone “just on routine hormone treatment, who I’m only seeing a few times a year, can bring in several thousand dollars … and actually makes money for the hospital.”

Citing the Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery, Taylor said vaginoplasty surgeries can generate $20,000, gushing that it “has to be an underestimate,” since hospital stay, anesthesia, post-op visits, and other add-ons are not included in the total.

“And the female-to-male bottom surgeries, these are huge money makers,” the doctor continued, adding that such surgeries could bring in “up to $100,000” for the hospital.

Some clinics are “entirely” “supported” financially by such phalloplasty surgeries, Taylor boasted.

“These surgeries are labor intensive, there are a lot of follow-ups, they require a lot of our time, and they make money,” she emphasized. “They make money for the hospital.”

I’m quite excited to say that Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn is calling for an investigation of VUMC.

Daily Wire also reported on the response of Tennessee’s Republican Governor Bill Lee:

Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee has called for an investigation of the Pediatric Transgender Clinic at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) after shocking videos posted by Matt Walsh detailed a doctor’s promotion of “big money maker” transgender surgeries.

What I wanted to talk about was one of the women who said that “religious people” who object to all of this “big money” making should be ejected from the hospital.

This is from the Daily Wire article:

At another Medicine Grand Rounds lecture, staffers are warned by Vanderbilt health law expert Ellen Wright Clayton that any “conscientious objection” will be met with “consequences,” and are told they probably shouldn’t be working at VUMC if they don’t want to participate in the trans surgeries, which include minor patients.

She said “if you don’t want to do this kind of work, don’t work at Vanderbilt”. She’s talking to Christians when she says that.

I looked up this Ellen Clayton woman, and found that she used to sing in her church choir. If only churches majored in apologetics, instead of singing, then maybe we wouldn’t be producing people who want to force Christians to mutilate children. So long as Christians prefer Matt Chandler and Beth Moore to William Lane Craig and Stephen C. Meyer, then we will keep producing people who would rather mutilate children than behave morally.

By the way, if you like podcasts, then definitely check out Matt Walsh.

I never miss an episode, and neither does Rose, the co-host of our Knight and Rose podcast. We love Matt Walsh.

Is Democrat law enforcement ever used against the secular left?

We know that the FBI is capable of election interference against Republicans, labeling parents “domestic terrorists”, spying on Republican’s Facebook messages, and entrapping crackpots into failed kidnapping plots. But what happens when the criminals and the FBI are on the same team? Does the FBI enforce the law against their own team?

Here’s Fox News:

Not a single arrest has been made in the more than a dozen attacks on pro-life organizations across the country claimed by left-wing pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge.

Jane’s Revenge has claimed responsibility for at least 18 arson and vandalism attacks on crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) and other faith-based organizations throughout the U.S. since the May 2 leak of the Supreme Court draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation first told Fox News Digital in June that it had launched an investigation into the targeted vandalism. The FBI said in a Sept. 7 statement that it was still investigating the “series of attacks and threats targeting pregnancy resource centers, faith-based organizations, and reproductive health clinics across the country, as well as to judicial buildings, including the US Supreme Court,” but it made no mention of Jane’s Revenge specifically.

Does the FBI take ALL violence and ALL threats of violence seriously? When I look at how they handled the fake Trump-Russia collusion dossier, I find it hard to believe.

Do you know what they do have time for, though?

The Washington Times reports:

President Biden will convene a forum Thursday at the White House aimed at confronting what civil rights groups, local officials and academics say is an explosive rise in extremism… that threatens the core of America’s democracy.

The “United We Stand” summit builds on the administration’s push to root out racially motivated domestic violent extremists. The threat sparked a sweeping strategy that included the creation of a specialized Justice Department unit to combat domestic terrorism. Mr. Biden will deliver the keynote address to highlight the administration’s response to hate and “put forward a shared vision for a more united America,” officials said.

Current and former FBI agents tell The Washington Times that the perceived threat has become overblown under the administration. They say bureau analysts and top officials are pressuring FBI agents to create domestic terrorist cases… to meet internal metrics.

[…]“We are sort of the lapdogs as the actual agents doing these sorts of investigations, trying to find a crime to fit otherwise First Amendment-protected activities,” he said. “If they have a Gadsden flag and they own guns and they are mean at school board meetings, that’s probably a domestic terrorist.”

The Gadsden flag is a historical American flag with a yellow field showing a timber rattlesnake and the words: “Don’t Tread on Me.” It is often used as a symbol of liberty.

These are the same people who ignored radical Islam right up until the 9/11 attack. They just can’t protect the American people from real threats. The only threats they accept are threats to the political power of the Democrat party. The law means nothing to them – they just want to crush anyone who dissents from the secular left.

Support for secular left policies increasing among young, unmarried feminists

Young, unmarried women vote overwhelmingly for Democrat party policies: abortion, same-sex marriage, daycare, public schools, no-fault divorce, etc. Cultural dominance of radical feminism has led to surging unhappiness, singleness, infertility and mental illness for these women. Nevertheless, young, unmarried women refuse to abandon radical feminism. They are doubling down.

First, lets review this article by Amanda Prestigiacomo from Daily Wire, that talks about a recent study on women’s declining happiness.

According to a recent study from Yale University researchers, liberated, college educated women are freezing their eggs because they can’t find a man to marry and have children with before their natural childbearing years expire. In the U.K., for instance, one in five women is childless when their natural reproductive years expires, as opposed to one in ten women a mere generation prior.

So what’s to blame for this onslaught of college-educated yet terribly empty women?

The short answer is feminism.

Feminism teaches women to delay marriage for college. College is worth it if you study nursing, computer science, etc. But it’s not worth it to get a worthless non-STEM degree in grievance studies. Especially if the degree comes with secular left indoctrination, promiscuity, misandry, contempt for male leadership, and student loan debt. None of these things are attractive to men who are considering marriage.

And guess what? The marriage rate is plummeting:

Marriage Rate 2020
Marriage Rate 2020

So, how are women reacting to the failure of feminism to deliver the things that make women really happy and fulfilled, i.e. – traditional marriage, and stay at home motherhood, a big family, successful moral children? Are young, unmarried women pulling back on their support for feminism? Are they looking for marriage-ready men to lead them? Are they returning to Christianity? Are they becoming more pro-life, and more opposed to sexual anarchy? Are they voting for school choice? Are they voting for smaller government and lower taxes, so that men can afford marriage and children?

Consider this article from The Federalist, my favorite news source, written by Joy Pullmann, my favorite Federalist writer.

She writes:

NBC News recently compared several polls to find huge shifts from Democrats to Republicans in 2022 midterm voter preferences. The big exception to these shifts across many demographics was college-educated women, who in NBC’s aggregation showed even stronger support for Democrats now than ahead of the last midterm election.

“[T]he gender gap between Democrats and Republicans is actually a marriage gap,” noted columnist Mona Charen in 2014, another midterm year. “Single women vote disproportionately for Democrats and married women vote by a comfortable margin for Republicans. The decline of marriage inclines more women to vote Democrat.”

When women undertake a life plan that delays marriage, they are less attractive to marriage-minded men. Marriage-minded men want to marry early, so they have help during their struggles in school and work. They want lots of well-behaved, successful children. They want to have a legacy, especially Christian men.

When young, unmarried women vote for Democrat policies, men are faced with higher taxes, more regulation, more pressure from cancel culture, more invasion of the home by secular leftists. Men don’t get married in order to have their kids stuck into daycare and public schools. Men don’t get married to have their kids transed by anti-male teachers, doctors, lawyers and judges. Men get married to lead a home. They don’t marry women who have been indoctrinated against male leadership in the home.

Women who make themselves unattractive to marriage-minded men tend to vote for bigger government. They want to be reckless and irresponsible in their young years, then have a safety net later that makes finding a husband “optional”. Remember Barack Obama’s “Life of Julia” plan for women?

The Federalist article continues:

Beyond the obvious fact that big government functions for some single women as a husband substitute, at least financially, it’s also true that women respond more strongly than men to emotional arguments of harm and victimhood of the kind that the Democrat Party of today specializes in. Women are also on the forefront of making the leftist kind of emotional “grievance politics” arguments in both academia and the public square, as Richard Hanania and others have noted.

Men don’t marry women who decide what to believe based on feelings and peer-approval. But that’s the kind of women that society has been making in recent years. Men don’t want that. Men marry women who have solid worldviews that provide a rational grounding for moral values and moral duties.

She also notes the study I blogged about before, about high rates of mental illness among progressive white women:

Pew found in 2020 that more than half of white women who identified as political liberals had been diagnosed by a professional with a mental disorder, such as depression or anxiety.

Men don’t marry women with mental illnesses, either.

Normally, I would write a conclusion here. But her conclusion was too excellent to skip:

Women have been earning more bachelor’s degrees than men have since 1982. From 1982 to 2013, women earned 10 million more degrees than men did. Not surprisingly, women dominate even more the social science fields that incubate leftist political extremism.

It’s well-documented that most colleges now function more as political grooming and social signaling centers than centers of learning. College graduates have for some time demonstrated, on average, no intellectual development from attending college, while college attendance now does correlate with a massive increase in affiliation with the Democrat Party.

At the same time colleges have become essentially academically worthless, if not toxic, they have become saturated with women, and have increasingly marketed and reorganized themselves in feminine terms. The feminization of our culture led by this academic dominance has fueled popular and pervasive messages of cruel and unrestrained female domination of men, rather than the loving cooperation with men that marriage and family encourage.

I love when older, wiser women hold young, unmarried women accountable for their reckless, irresponsible choices. Women today have a visceral hatred for being evaluated for marriage or mentored by men. They don’t think that men with achievements have any ability to lead them. That’s why it’s wonderful when older, wise women step up and teach young, unmarried women that they are their own worst enemies. That’s what Titus 2:3-5 says, isn’t it?

Men aren’t going to solve the problem of young women’s skyrocketing unhappiness. It’s not our responsibility to save women from their own embrace of self-destructive ideologies. Young women don’t listen to men with moral convictions and solid theology. The problem will only be solved when young women choose to make better decisions.
