  1. But isn’t there ample evidence against life after death? Take this argument I received from an atheist.

” The evidence clearly points to the dependence of consciousness on the physical brain. If even an anesthetic can eclipse consciousness, how much more is it effaced by the destruction of the brain at death? If even Alzheimer’s Disease can wipe out conscious self awareness, how much more can consciousness be annihilated by the death of the brain? The language we speak, even internally, is the result of sensory input into a physical brain. If a child dies at the age of two months, what would pop out into some afterlife, a person who can communicate in a human language? The development of our self awareness requires years of sensory input into a human brain, so how do we see, hear, or otherwise absorb information in a disembodied state? Also, if consciousness is dependent upon the physical brain, how can a disembodied super intelligence even function. All intelligent thought requires that synapses and cortical neurons in a physical brain are functioning. Thus, a being with no physical brain would not be able to think.”

      1. I’m sorry, I got this tab mixed up with “How corroborative near-death experiences falsify atheism”.

  2. Dalarson,
I recommend reading “Life After Death:The Evidence” by Dinesh D’Souza. See interview with JP Moreland at http://www.closertotruth.com/video-profile/Does-a-Soul-have-an-Afterlife-J-P-Moreland-/1163 . Also, the website Skeptiko.com has some podcasts on the subject concerning the scientific evidence for life after death. Skeptiko is not a Christian website and often ignorantly puts down Christianity so obviously I would not agree with everything said there. I still think you will find some helpful info on the subject at Skeptico. Hope this helps.
