The Archdiocese of Washington has scrapped its 80-year-old foster care program, claiming it’s no longer eligible to serve as an adoption provider due to the District of Columbia’s pending same-sex marriage law.
Under the legislation, which legalizes same-sex marriage in the nation’s capital and which goes into effect March 2, all outside contractors must recognize gay couples in the District.
In a press release posted on its Web site Tuesday, the archdiocese, which opposes gay marriage, said it had no choice but to transfer its foster care program to the National Center for Children and Families, or NCCF.
Same-sex marriage is incompatible with religious liberty. It’s a zero-sum game.

Somehow I don’t think there’s much hope that since the adoptions will go on under a different group, that anyone on the Left is going to care. (In fact, you could say that part of the legislation is a feature, not a bug.)

I’m just getting around to visiting your site. Great posts related to the topic. I’m dealing with this issue more and more at my place. Is it OK for anything to be wrong anymore, except of course God, Christianity, absolutes, preservation of language, historical context and ‘traditional’ anything?

Orphanage children should have the right to be adopted by parents that consist of a mother and a father in a stable marriage.
There should not be any right to adopt children because children are not pets!
